I also game with my MJ computer and the app popping up drove me crazy but someone created this (see forum above keep app from popping up) and it works great! It's not fancy but it gets the job done. Good luck.

I'm having the same issue and I'm not using the USB extension cable. I'm thinking about trying a powered USB port but I want to make sure it will work before I buy one.
