I had a similiar issue while I was running a router with just 2MB of RAM. If you purchase a router that has a high amount you will see less issues even when running the MJ from a PC.

Well I may very wel be wrong, but a USB device isn't going to know the difference. Basically is is just a VM running in Vista, so the only way I could imagine it would work would be to follow the "running MJ dongle-less" guides on the vista computer for 1 MJ and then using the same guide on the VM ...
