OK..makes sense.
Jeepster was a poster on this forum that has a step by step guide posting.
Makes sense.
I'll change to weekly and I am glad I was thinking straight regarding the no commit prior to reboot.
Thanks Again,
Curt

They can definitely do those things.
For file server, just plug in a USB terabyte external and away you go.

Puppy Linux?
I have another application I'de like to use the TC for..
I noticed that there are dedicated TC from HP just for Linux, but can I use a T57X0 to run puppy Linux direct from the USB stick?
Thanks
Curt

All Working but ???
Good Morning All:
Finally have the TC5700/MJ working fine. I had to add the USBAUDIO drivers list according to Jeepsters step by step.
I also have the TC set-up for a daily reboot via task scheduler. I cannot find a way to get to the task scheduler directly from the TC. BUT, if I log onto the TC ...

This issue resolved. I suspect what the problem was is that I wasn't waiting long enough to have the XP initial start complete. It went to a blue screen and appears to stop. Before I restarted it...this time I let it sit and it finally completed and gave me a MBR alarm which I NEVER heard before ...

T5700 Upgraded to 512MB APACER DOM
Good Afternoon All:
Well, the RAM problem is taken care of now, but another issue has shown up. This could have been a problem all along as well.
I have a T5700 that is labelled as a 1GHz, 256/256.
It actually was received with a 512MB Apacer DOM in it and 256MB of RAM.
CMOS Setup shows 512MB ...

RAM Spec
If the HP TC is so touchy that the brand of memory can make it not work, why is the best advice in the BIG SICKIES above recommend PC2700 memory when the original HP optional memory upgrade was specified as PC2100?
I know that generally, this would not be an issue. Indeed it isn't for my Dell ...

MJ will not respond to phone dialing, and weak audio, echo
Have now spent many hours trying to get this new MJ to work properly. Several hours with several different on-line chat support people from MJ as well. Nothing has made the problem even a little better.
Problems:
Can not dial a number from a telephone connected to the MJ.
