1st question - what speed internet connection are you using? As someone has already stated, MJ uses under 100Kb of bandwidth which is not a lot if you have a decent broadband connection. I was able to use it from Germany last fall on a less-then-high-speed connection but I was not worried about ...

There isn't really an exact fix for this problem as it seems you're trying to use the same computer you have magic jack on. If you search the forums you'll notice that in most cases it's better to have magic jack running on its own seperate computer or on a thinclient or a laptop. The Magic Jack ...

have reasons to believe my router (a fritz!box) is the cause, it has QoS which i cannot turn off it seems, anyone have any ideas?

The person who receives the call does not get charged. Long distance charges are only applied to someone when they make a call.


true if you call to a landline (housephone) if you call to a Cellphone the person recieving the call might get costs

i live in the netherlands and if my GF from the US ...

mj has a specific band with usage, i think its 80kbps something. I had a similar problem when I first use mj. i went to there chat support and they had me add some port is firewall and sites is the internet options, I think ;-) . you may want to check about with the chat support. but you have to ...

i bought an Magicjack when i was in the US so i can talk to my GF, myself? i live in the netherlands, MJ itself works like a charm, no problems whatshowever except for 1 mayor annoying thing
