It is possible that your router firewall is preventing the MJ from working properly. Try disabling that firewall.

I don't think my expression of frustration was a "blanket statement." It was exactly what it appeared to be -- frustration. My dad who's in his late 70's also was able to plug & play the MJ, but not me. If you do a google search you'll find lots of other folks who also have had nagging problems also ...

Swamp.....don't buy it. Here's why---TOO MANY PROBLEMs with whatever modem you have. Unless you're pretty good at computer technical stuff (and I thought I was until this stupid magicjack thing) you just might have issues with comcast.
