I, like the most of us I guess, did receive the "Lucky You Upgrade" and it fixed a lot of problems I had with my MJ. The time limit (I was down to thirty minutes from an hour and a half) is gone, and I do not have any kind of problems with my audio settings, wich was quite annoying.

After the last automatic upgrade (about a week ago) the magicJack dialer window doesn't pop up like it used to so I have to click on the phone icon so that I can see the incoming number...anyone else have this issue?

The good news after the upgrade is that my contacts list doesn't disappear after ...

ok here is the deal

all day long and a simple capitol "J" in magicJack.exe stumped me

follow this it works! step by step:

hit the start button in windows7

type cmd into the search box

rightclick on cmd run as administrator

type powercfg /requestsoverride PROCESS magicJack.exe DISPLAY

make ...

I see. But then again what is the number you dialed ? Never heard of a tech support phone line before... ??? To me it's weirder than your MJ going beserk.

You "spoke on the phone with tech support for several hours" ??? Well that's a first for me... wich number did you call ?!?!?

As far as your MJ problem goes I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate and I never experienced nothing close to what you describe. That's really weird.

Very nice and thank you... but I shouldn't have to go trough all that trouble just because I'm using Magicjack. And believe me I won't...!!!

Got the "Lucky You Upgrade" as well, and I found a way to get my contact list back and my call log.

In the menu there's a new option (at least I never seen it with the other softphone) called "Sign Out". Just click on that, it'll bring you a new window with your account ID, and underneath all you ...

Don't know if you are aware of this, but there's a fix on the MJ website for the contact list issue. I just applied it and got my contact list back as well as my call log.

Mine is still there, so I assume that they don't delete it systematically when a new year begins.

As how you can get it back I'm sorry I can't help you with that. But maybe you can try the online chat support, who knows they might be able to restore it in you MJ if they have a copy of it, which ...

Same thing happened to me two days ago. I just restarded my MJ and it resolved the 30 minutes issue.

I had a similar problem and I ask the chat support to reset my vmail account. It was done in less than a minute ...

This setting must be a divine intervention from an unknown Radio Shack lonesome boy !!! Gimme that 110 volts device and I'll turn whatever you want in whatever you need.

Indeed I do have access to another phone, and I did try to record a message that I thought wouldn't sound like a frog frigging in an empty can of Chief Boyardee, but it simply didn't work.

To be brief I did what "Nobody beats the Whiz!" suggested and now my vmail has returned to its initial state ...

There must be someone who knows if it can be done or not :roll: ???


You could always ask the chat support to reset your vmail account.

I'm curious why you don't want to just record a generic message of your own?

Does anyone know if there's a way to reset the original greetings messages in the voicemail ? I went through all the options and I didn't find anything, but there must be a way to do it.
