I have the same issue with outgoing calls. They come in clear but cannot hear me very well. No solution yet but I am working on it.

Ours isn't a matter of them not hearing us "very well", it's not at all! I'm willing to tinker, but my wife is ready to chuck the thing. I have the tk6000 on the way ...

Receiving party can't hear

My wife has been experiencing a problem where, when she calls someone, she can hear them, but they can't hear her. If she hangs up and calls back it's usually fine. The first couple of times I assumed maybe the other person was on a cell and it was their problem, but now it's happened a good dozen ...

Delivery time?

I ordered a tk6000 the other night. I hope it gets here fast, because the wife is bitching about MJ's inability to reliably send faxes. Their email said 2-3 weeks. I did pay the whole cost up front (instead of "4 easy payments" of $24.95) which is supposed to expedite the order. Can anybody who has ...

I'm considering trying NetTalk, if can send faxes reliably. I successfully sent a few test pages with MJ before I fired the phone company, but now I realize it's not reliable enough for large multi-page documents. Has anyone had success faxing large, multi-page documents with the tk6000? (I mean ...

I bought both the MJ and TK6000 to compare the options and will choose one after the 30 day period.
Great, keep us posted!

All this is making me reconsider the netTalk tk6000. Seems like a lot of problems would be avoided by eliminating the computer or TC altogether. We'll see if they're around in a year after my MJ year expires. Then again, if I keep having problems with MJ, I may switch sooner.

After wasting a bunch of time with MJ support chat and doing a bunch of sh*t they suggested that didn't work, here's what they suggested that finally did work:

Control Panel --> Network Connections --> right click on your local area connection then click properties.

Click "use the following DNS ...

Re: Windows updates

Hey MadDogMike - Are you referring to Windows updates from Microsoft or Magic jack updates?

In which statement? I spoke of both. The magicJack update caused the problem. Somebody said there was a Windows update that included a tigerjet usb update that fixed the problem. I did not find said ...

Re: Majic Jack.exe application error

I think I am suffering from the same update problem except I get an application error message which requires restarting MJ for it to work again. MJ works for one 'transaction' then gets the error and must be restarted again.

That's exactly what happens to me. Reset it, use the phone once, then it ...

I must have gotten some kind of "update", 'cuz now I keep getting the error message "magicJack has experienced a problem and must be shut down."

This has happened several times in the last day or so. I have never had that problem before. I'm running MJ on a dedicated laptop with a fresh install of ...

Yeah, I was afraid that's what you were referring to. I'm a Mac user. Besides, that wouldn't address my problem anyway. I'm talking about my entire WiMax service failing. QoS wouldn't help with that.

Yes WiMax works just fine !

Well, I've had mixed results so far. Basically, it works when it works, but we've had a couple of complete outages that lasted a few minutes each time. The WiMax modem indicated a full signal during the whole outage, but there was no internet for that time ...

MagicJack with "Clear" WiMax?

Has anybody here used MagicJack with the new "Clear" WiMax service? I'm running out of options in trying to get broadband in my area without bundling with other services. AT&T won't give me any faster speed than 1.5 mbps on DSL unless I get U-verse, which they charge $150 just to hook-up! Comcast ...

Hate to reply to my own post, but here's an article on the subject from Atlanta-based consumer reporter Clark Howard: http://clarkhoward.com/liveweb/shownotes/2008/07/11/13765/

But again, it's about a year and a half old. Hoping to find some newer reports from people familiar with MJ, like those ...

magicJack with Comcast

Since my MJ is working well, I was planning on dropping my AT&T phone line and just keeping naked DSL service. But then I thought, why not dump AT&T entirely and get Comcast, because in my area they offer nearly 10x the speed for about the same price. However, I have seen a number of postings on ...

When it comes to "budget" voip like MJ and TK if your getting good results with one I would not try the other unless you had the money to spend. If MJ is working for you now I would hold off until your year of MJ is almost up and see if you want to renew. By that time there should be more info on ...

Sound quality Since Net talk uses its own processor it's quality is much higher and stable than MJ could ever achieve. and it's consistant as well.

You say that, but others have reported garbled speech, stuttering, and hearing every-other-word. Seems like YMMV. I've only had MJ for a day, but it ...

Damn, I just bought magicJack yesterday, did the 100k resister fix, all is well, and now I found the thread this device! I'm using an old laptop for my magicJack, but it would be nice to avoid that altogether. So, what's the consensus on netTALK vs. magicJack? There's nowhere one can buy netTALK ...
