MJ to MJ Plus upgrade

I have had a MJ since Jan. 2010 - love it and it works great. I would like to get a MJ Plus so I don't have to leave a computer running. Can I do this and transfer the current MJ number to the MJ Plus and how ? Is this a good upgrade to make, any issues with the MJ Plus that the MJ didn't have ...

MJ works with dialer, but no dialtone as a service (Windows7

OK. My computer has had Windows XP on it. I have been using MJ as a service for about 10 months with nary a problem of any kind. This past weekend, I installed Windows 7 (64bit) on another hard drive of the same computer, so I can dual boot to either XP or 7. That way I can take my time migrating ...

I installed Windows 7 this morning. Probably the simplest windows install I ever did. magic jack was detedted by windows and even had what looked like the right icon for it. I installed the magic jack software and the magic jack works fine with the dialer, but when I installed it as a service, I no ...

Thanks laserjobs. It's run so good for so long I'm a little nervous about moving it to a new OS but hopefully it will go smoothly. Are there any gotcha's about Windows 7 ? Also, do I need to back anything up for MJ from the old system to reuse on the new OS ?

Magicjack updates using the MagicSilence plugin

I'm using the MagicSilence plugin and am very happy with it. I recently changed my MJ number and was unable to place or receive calls for a little while. Finally a reboot of the computer got it all going again. Anyway, while it wasn't working, I did some searching and saw where the updates from ...

Just what I needed.!

Thanks bitstopjoe, that was just what I needed. I used the search to find this post on configuring a Brother Fax machine to recieve faxes:

which also worked perfectly, but I should have looked a little more on how to ...

Change Number of Rings before mj voicemail answers

Hello again. My MJ connects to a fax machine (brother mfc 3360). I'm using it as both a fax and phone. I just used some tips I found on this site to get my fax where it would recieve faxes. Sometimes though, the mj voice mail will pickup before the fax can recieve it. I have my fax set to pickup ...

MJ on OS X 10.4 ?

I've been using my MJ on XP for a couple of months now and love it. A friend has a Mac with O S X 10.4 and would like to know if MJ will run on it. I see on the MJ home page that it will run on Intel Macs but I don't know if this one is an Intel or PPC. Can you tell from the OS version ?

Thanks...I set it up as a service and it works fine for everyone, even with nobody logged on at welcome screen. Only thing is now I have dialtone while I'm dialing out. I downloaded the mj silencer to stop the dialtone while dialing, and it changed the mj icon to the little red block with a down ...

MJ Works only in my windows profile

I installed MJ yesterday, works fine, calls work coming in or going out, voice mail is nifty etc.... When I installed MJ, I was logged in to Windows XP as myself and when I am logged in with my own username it works fine. When other family members log in with their own usernames, MJ doesn't work. Is ...

I can see where if it continues to work well in the long run, this is going to be a major benefit for my household. It's such a good deal in-fact that it's surprising that our imperial leaders have not yet figured out someway to strangle it, stifle it or tax it to death like they do so many other ...

Turned On MJ Today, Works Great

I've been waiting for a week to get my wireless broadband hooked up. It snowed like mad here today and I was afraid they were going to want to put it off till next week but the guy arrived and even though it took him twice as long as normal, he did an excellent job of getting it going for me. I just ...

Thanks for the comment Tom, that certainly renews my interest in the GL. One I'm considering as a temporary measure is the $25 Trendnet 432BRP. It's cheap, works decently, and is reported to work with MJ. Untile I can get something a little better. Speaking of doing things on the cheap - I already ...

Question about outgoing toll numbers

:) Hello everyone. It just occurred to me that once when my son was about 13 years old, after seeing some of those 1-900 phone sex advertisements that used to come on TV late at night, he called several of those numbers and I got a big phone bill one month because of it. I got my phone bill ...

One of the offices where I work is using a netgear WPN824 that works real good for them.

I have always thought the Linksys WRT54GL (GL is the one with open source firmware) would be a great router. it has over 2-thousand 5-star reviews on the egg but all references to MJ say you have to flash with ...

Router Experiences / Suggestions

I'm new to MJ and am just now getting around to having wireless broadband hooked up. I haven't bought a wireless router yet but a couple I am looking at are the d-link DIR-615 and the netgear WGR614L open-source router. Before I buy, I was wondering if anyone wants to share their experiences with ...
