You might try opening the power plan settings, select change settings, then advanced power settings. Make sure the USB suspend is disabled. Just a thought. I have hibernation disabled also. Win7 x64

If you haven't tried it, open Device Manager and find your modem, right click and uninstall it. Reboot and let it reinstall...... work for me when mine broke.
