Even though I use a thin client for my MJ, they are a dieing option now that MJ+ has been released. Unless you want to use the thin client for over duties than just MJ or want to use options like MagicFeatures then there is no real reason to use a thin client over a MJ+.

Just wanted to note I have to manually shut down MJ either with Task Manager or with a close-out on MJ screen before my computer will go into sleep mode, which is annoying as it takes so long to shut down. ?

The service works fine on my windows profile, I am the Admin, but on my other families profiles; wife, son and daughter's profiles, the sound is gargled on the other end.

The volume is set to telephone which I am using and it's not a cordless.

Try shutting everything down that is running on your computer that you have MJ on. norton, and anything that is running in the background, then turn them back on one at a time and see if you can find the one that is effecting MJ.

You can find in these forms MJ users are having trouble with some area codes.

As for your router take a look at DD-WRT or Tomato firmware, I went with DD-RTW for my liknsys WRT54GS. Once I flashed it MJ worked much better.

but the problom of low volume is still there.

Goto MJ softphone, click on the Menu goto Volume/headset control,
make sure Telephone is checked, then adjust your speaker and microphone levels, you might have to play with them a bit to get just right.

Also check all you "sound" controls in control ...

Your magicJack has already been registered.

First thing, I haven't heard anything about unpluging it then pluging it back in and the message goes away.

You somehow have to get it registered, It needs an email address, you have to create an account with MJ. your mailing address for 911 location ...

Don't use the Ext cord at all, make sure MJ is pluged into the back USB, don't use any others. Check in crtl. panel, system, device Mgr. goto USB Root Hubs, make sure Power Save are uncheck.

It's a new MJ and I know it works as it almost self installed on my EeePC. I have no problem with that netbook.

Now I've tried to install it on a Toshiba Satellite 64 bit using Vista and I'd like to get this to work as I want to take it out of the country with me.

Have you setup phone numbers in the softphone contacts list?
I also run magicfeatures and have numbers in it for CID.

I haven't been able to start my MJ in about 2 months. When I plug it in it starts the splash screen normally, then after about a minute crashes with this message from " magicJack Setup Component Setup ":

Magickjack closes itself automatically all the time, no warnings, no signs of a crash, nothing.

I decided to run it as a service to see if that would help, and the same thing happens. As far as I know it's the latest version.

Windows 7 64-bit
