You might get a pleasant surprise when you try to cancel your home phone with Bell Canada. I called just to ask about cancelling and they went into panic mode and discounted my phone, internet and satellite TV so much it worked out to be cheaper to keep it.

I'm pretty sure the 310 numbers only work on bell phones. You'll have to go online and get another number.

I had this problem when I first got my magicjack a few months ago. It got better for a while and now it's worse then it has ever been. Constant busy signal.

My call display is showing NAME and number all the time now. I didn't think that was supported. Nice bonus.

I haven't had any reason to post because mine has been working flawlessly now on my thin client. Calls always go through, no beeping, quality is like a landline. Only minor issue is I can't call out to some 1-800 numbers.
I never even check my thin client through VNC.

Maybe you've tinkered too much. I also have a 5710. With a fresh install of XPe you should just have to set it up to log in as Administrator automatically, plug in the magic jack and everything will just work.

Try starting from scratch.

Things seem to have gotten better. I don't receive many calls on my magicjack but haven't had any of the fast busy signal problems in a week or two.

Anybody else notice an improvement?

He quoted me $45 additional charges to ship to Canada so I had 1 shipped to the U.S.
Unfortunately he forgot to put in a power supply so I haven't actually used it yet. I don't need it anymore though since I'm using a 5710 which works great.

I have tightvnc as a start up program but I did it differently. I think I chose run as a service during the install and that was all that was required. I do regular scheduled restarts and it always starts automatically.

Just navigate to the shutdown .exe when your'e in the task manager setup wizard select it and type the rest in.

I agree, it's got to be on their end. I've only had the magicjack a few weeks but it's been on 2 different computers, both were restarted several times and the problem has been present with all of them.
I have noticed peak times is worse.
My ISP is Bell Sympatico, they do throttle in the evening ...

I'm having the same issue also with a Canadian number. I was hoping it was the prefix not being updated with all phone companies but I don't think so.

I've been pretty impressed with Magicjack except for one major problem.

I'm running on a thinclient, call quality is great, but incoming calls frequently receive a fast busy signal. This makes the magicjack useless as a replacement for my home line.

Thanks, I got that working for restarts in the middle of the night twice a week.
One note though, task scheduler wasn't enabled to start automatically so when I tried to test the task it said that task scheduler wasn't running.

I just setup a 5710 256/256 without too much difficulty thanks to this guide.
A few things are outdated on this guide so I thought I would add a few comments.

I didn't bother resizing the Ram disk to 64mb and everything worked fine.

Problem solved, I installed TightVNC server on my thinclient and use Vinaigre to connect from my Ubuntu desktop.

Only 9 mb left on my flash drive though.

I just setup my T5710 256/256, not too painful but when I log in from my Ubuntu desktop using rdesktop (RDP) it kills the audio in my magicjack, I still get a dialtone and the phone will ring but no voice on either end.

Any Ideas?

I don't use windows so teamviewer wouldn't work and I'm low on disk ...

I had the same message with a 4gb Duracell USB stick. I tried a 2gb by a different manufacturer and it worked fine.
Not sure if it's the size or make, but try another one if you have one handy.

Just bought a magicjack in Boston last week. I registered online and paid the extra $10 for a Canadian number.
The $69.95 deal is available for 5 years but from what I read, the $10 for Canadian number is in addition to that and will be billed annually.
