I don't think that I will buy the Magic Jack +. I have been using NetTalk , and I am happy with it. NetTalk has real customer service unlike MJ. Hope this is a successful product. I guess time will tell.

My MJ was working OK until some time recently. When I made a call to my friend, I could hear him for about one minute, and then I couldn't hear him. On Incoming calls, this problem doesn't happen. Anybody experiencing this? He has comcast.

Have you tried MJ on a different computer? Also try plugging the MJ into a rear USB port or get a Powered Hub. Also do not use the extension cord because it can cause many problems. I am considering getting the NetTalk Duo. One thing that I heard is that is "Router picky". I have a Netgear WGR614v4 router and it works well with the MJ. Will it work with the duo? It is an older router. My family bought it in the summer of 2004.

NetTalk has a similar feature. You can call forward up to multiple numbers. If the first hnumber is busy, it will go to the next number and so on. You can also get a free google voice account. Hope this helps.

Lets get back to the topic... My MJ Outgoing call limit has been 90 minutes since July. And Joe, you are wrong about the outgoing call limit for NetTalk. According to their website, it says that their call limit is three hours.

I still cannot hear incoming calls, but My outgoing calls work just fine. I looked at the instructions on how to change survers, and it is too dificult for me to do. I wonder if buying a Fourth Gen MJ will fix the problem?

Was it an incoming call? If it is an incoming call, There is no two HR limit. If it is an outgoing call, it is an 2 HR Limit.

Hello Nugrl,

Try uninstalling Magic Jack from the control pannel. Then Plug in your MJ and soon as you plug it in, hold down the Shift key for five seconds to prevent the Magic Jack softphone from coming up. Then run http://upgrades.magicjack.com/upgrade/upgrade.exe

I tried my MJ on Wifi on a computer running Windows 7, and I didn't have any problems. I have 2 MBPS Download and 500kbps upload speed. However, My MJ is on a hardwired computer running Windows XP SP3.

Sounds like Your MJ or your sound card whent bad. If I were you, I would try it on another computer and see if it works. If you bought it at a store, you should take it back and get a new one.

It's a good idea to boot up with the MJ unplugged and waight until you get to the desktop. Then plug it back in. That's what I do all the time.

Net Talk also has a call limit per month. If you use 5000 minutes, they will turminate your service. Also NetTalk has a 180 minut limit. That is an hour more than Magic Jack's Outbound call limit.

Try resetting your router. Also, when you get an incoming call, try to press the flash button twice and see if you can hear them. Also, are you using the extension cord with your MJ? Don't as it can cause many problems.

Sounds like it was a memory issue. It is a good idea to shut down your computer and reboot it again every few days. That resets the memory. Restarting it doesn't reset the memory. I am glad that I got it working for you!

I had the same issue earlier. I have WOW! as my service provider. I got a dial tone, but every number I dialed I got dead air or a fast busy signal. I am glad it works now!
