Can the voice mail be turned off for netTalk?

It doesn't sound like this would allow someone to use regular phone like Magicjack does. Incoming calls would have to be answered by a softphone. I suppose an ATA could be set up with the free service. then you would have two phones, one for incoming, one for outgoing. I guess I answered my own ...

Many businesses don't have an internet connection, but do have phone service. Fax machines are cheap. Fax machines are simple like VCR's. Fax machines will be around a while longer.

Only being able to use a softphone means magicjack still has an advantage over Google voice. I have and use Google voice. I want to speak into a phone, not my computer.

I use magicringforever and it prevents the voicemail from picking up.

I am a Google Voice user and wanted to say thanks for magicringforever. I've had MJ for a couple of years, but haven't used it fully in part because of the voice mail. This works great.
