Re: MJ vs NetTalk vs OBi
Obviously each set-up is different, but for what it's worth, as long as my power stays on, I bypass both the GV and MJ voicemail systems.

Re: MJ vs NetTalk vs OBi
If you really need to keep your MJ number and GV won't port it I have heard of others first porting their land line number to a throw away cell phone and then port from the throw away to GV. .

Re: MJ vs NetTalk vs OBi
Would you know off hand if GV can port MJ phone numbers? I know they don't do land lines but my MJ number is the same exchange as cell phones in my area. - Thanks!VaHam wrote:Google Voice began offering outgoing calling some time ago via their Google chat. Re: MJ vs NetTalk vs OBi
As an added advantage the OBi 100/110 implement the XMPP protocol in addition to standard sip and thus are natively compatible with Google Voice; so unless Google Voice drops it's free calling you have your VOIP service provided free...

MJ switching to headset on it's own.
I have the same problem except it is now 2011. I'm running MJ on an HP thin client and more recently MJ has been switching to headset on it's own about 1 or 2 times a week. I had this problem previously then it disappeared for a long time and now it's back again.

Thanks redpepper, that's what I've done now. The only issue I have is that I need the desktop to log on automatically if the computer reboots due to updates etc. I'm currently trying TweakUI from Microsoft to facilitate that need, but for some reason it doesn't seem to continue the auto log on after ...

redpepper et al, I'm currently running MagicJack as a service. When I run MagicRingForever from my desktop it brings up a new instance of MagicJack and the ring forever function works fine but when the computer is rebooted the Ring Forever reverts back to normal. Do any of you know of any way to to ...
