I'd still get one if the only numbers offered were in Canada, to be able to call anywhere...
The "standard" local numbers netTalk is offering, which is priced @ $29.99/year, are only for US area codes.

However for anyone that requires Canadian local area code, the cost will be $5.99/MONTH ...

You are 1,000,000% right about the $5.99/Month for offering Canadian locale numbers. Well, they keep it then... for 71.88+29.99/Year for Canadian numbers vs. 29.99 for US numbers... I'm not that (bleep) desperate to have them as for my voIP provider.

After having used the MJ without its USB dongle for over 3 months, extracting its credentials, then using that on my iPhone along with Siphon apps. So now that this seems to be the thing of the past, at least for the time being for the obvious reason, I’m on the verge of plugging the damn thing back ...

You're absolutely right.
But about the MJ's $10 charge for the Canadian number, it's a one-time deal and will not be charged yearly, (unless I'm mistaken).

This is where it is so far.
I managed to hard reset the PAP2.
I am now able to get into the router with just the ip address.
Firmware Version: 3.1.9(LSc)
Don't know if it is okay to leave the ethernet in, or I should remove it.

I just looked at my PAP2. I do not know the history of it. I tried to find the ip address to login. I feel totally lost. As far as unlocking, I read that it matters if it was used with Vonage already or is still virgin.

Is there a way to tell without looking ...

This is a great forum!
I was wondering... the incoming CID displays correctly on my harware telephone, with name and number. But as for the MJ's softphone display, it displays only the number, without the name.

-Is it supposed to be that way when not used with Magicfeatures or am I missing ...
