ZoneAlarm (Free Version) UDP Porting

Hello Friends

It looks like you can not open udp ports in the free version of ZoneAlarm. Anybody else running ZoneAlarm? and are you having any problem with MJ playing nice with it?

Thanks for your input.

Re: Strange occurance when plugged into a new Belkin USB hub

I had to reboot on my computer a couple of times. On the last reboot the magic jack did not start up. When I looked at the MJ and the hub it was connected to - the MJ blue light was on but the green light on the USB hub was off. I unplugged the MJ and then plugged it back in and away I went.

Does anybody know of a way to add a port range in WinXP Firewall. I can add individual ports but it will not allow me to add a range. I'm I doing something wrong? Any help would be helpful and appreciated. I did a search and did not find this topic....

Re: Static on Incoming Calls Only - Possible Fix???

Very strange problem with our MJ that has just popped up in recent weeks. Up until then things had been relatively good. Lately the majority of incoming calls have very loud static. So much static we usually cannot even understand the callers (or the messages they leave if voive mail is left). Here ...

Hello,

Has anybody else found that incoming calls today are mostly static. You can hear little bits of the other persons voice. Nothing has changed with my setup. It just started today.

Re: Is MJ USB 1.1 or 2.0?

Does anybody know if MJ is USB 1.1 or 2.0? Thanks

Search is your friend as this has been asked and answered here many times.
I even think they mention on MJ's web page in the FAQ section.

Yes you can use it with 1.1 or 2.0 ( MJ is a 2.0 device but will work on 1.1 as well).

I have a P3 800MHZ, 512meg RAM and 40 gig HD. PCI USB card that is 2.0. The built in usb on the PC is 1. Will this PC run the MJ? If so, will it run it well.

Answering incoming calls - sounds like a fax hand shake tone

Hello,

I had a wierd experience with my MJ today. When I answered a couple of incoming calls today (both from different numbers) it sounded like a fax machine hand shake noise for about 2 second then I could hear the other person. Anybody else experiencing this?

Thanks

Incoming Calls - Problem hearing other person

Hello - OK another problem with my MJ - Sometimes when calls come in - and I pick up the call - the voice on the other end is a quiet and garbled voice on the other end. IE - my wife can call me from her work and sometimes it is ok and other times it is just like I explained.

MagicJack is sending this problem to their engineers

After almost 2 hours - MagicJack Support has escalated this problem to their engineers. They told me that it seems the problem maybe on their end and not the MJ- (which would confirm the prior posting back in January about this problem. I will wait and see.

Also if you are using the extension cord which came with your MJ, don't as it causes more problems than it is worth. Also try to use a rear USB port if possible..

No Dial Tone after incoming call is not answered

Hello -

If the magicjack gets an incoming call and that call is not answered - the next time you pick up the phone and try to make a call - there in no dial tone. However, (and this is really strange) you can dial a phone number and the call will be placed. Or you can hang up and pick up again ...
