Tom, should it come shrink wrapped? It was in a tivek envelope. Inside was the device in a styrofoam packing with the orange MagicJack covering, no shrink wrapp.

Where did you buy this? If from a retail store (Wal-Mart, Best Buy, etc.), did the package look like it was unopened? It sounds like you might have gotten a returned dongle which was already registered by the previous owner. You can always take it back and get another one, being sure the packaging ...
