Best Buy sends it back whether you tell them it's defective or not.

It was the same ISP. Everyone I know has the same ISP or dial-up. There's not really a lot of other options. As far as I know, Charter Communications is friendly with the MagicJack and other VOIP.

I actually did update the drivers and played around with the settings in the soundcard drivers for the Creative X-Fi. Nothing in there helps. It appears that Windows treats the headset as a completely different audio device and ignores anything with the Creative settings.

Oh, my Internet connection is through Cable with a speed of 35Mbps down and 3Mbps up. I've tried bypassing the router with no luck.

Anyone have any suggestions? It works, I just am forced to keep everything else silent in my place so I can hear the call. That, or I use my amplified speakers haha.

I have been around in circles with the MJ tech support on this. I think about 10 or more techs have worked with me, and all of them want me to do the same exact things, even after supposedly reading the previous chats. I don't know how many times I've raised and lowered volume controls.
