Technically a front USB port is a non powered hub as it is just jumpered off the MB. Sure in some cases it works fine ( usually if there are no other USB devices connected to the PC drawing power away from the MJ). But a rear port is a direct connection to the MB's USB controller. I am a new Magic Jack (wannabe) user. I installed Magic Jack, got my phone number, but have not yet been able to successfully use it.
1. Calls out -- I get a dial tone. When I dial, phone goes off to a black hole. No ring, no sound, no message. Just empty space.
