The EWF is the Enhanced Write Filter. This protects the image from being "written" to like a regular hard drive. Any changes you make to the image must use the EWF to "commit" the changes to the flash drive.

Recently my HP T5720 Thin Client was not working with the magicJack.
This message appeared on the screen.

It takes you to their website and tells you that your "firewall" is blocking magicJack servers. A Thin Client does not have ...

I have my T5720 Thin Client configured so that the software is always downloaded from the magicJack servers whenever there is a powerloss, I reboot, or unplug/plug back in my MJ. No MJ software is saved to the flashdrive. This latest update did not affect my TC at all, rebooted, and was back in ...

TIP-boot up WITHOUT magicJack plugged in
Delete the old magicJack software from the flash drive, don't uninstall it, just delete the folder that magicJack uses. Save with the EWF. Reboot.
Plug magicJack back in. Wait for it to download the new update. Use the EWF again to save to image.
Should work ...

No other external storage device is used.
Sometimes you have to use what you have in front of you, and make the most of it.

HP uses the BIOS to license the Xpe image to that model. Reflashing the BIOS will not solve the problem, as the area that the license information is stored in is protected from reflashing. As far as the ThinState capture utility goes, I copied it from aT5710 image. The folder has all the files you ...

I see someone made an incorrect assumtion.

You know what they say when you make an assumption........

No USB stick..... no remapping of folders....

It was actually quite simple to setup.....surprised to see no one has done it before.

How does one autosave the mj software without using the EWF?

Just curious, as I have seen a few sellers on eBay touting that their configurations automatically save the magicjack software upgrades while retaining the EWF feature protecting the XPe image?
Are they using a script with special software? or what?
