Sorry guys - the AP story was incorrect. You can only port MOBILE numbers.

Google's Voice calling application is adding a long-promised feature: the ability to move a phone number from a cell phone or landline to Google's service.

Now we don't need MJ to port. Just transfer your current number to GV and then tell GV to forward to your MJ number!

Where can I get phone service WITH porting for less than $7.95 per month? Here: http://www.inphonex.com/services/voip-liteline.php It is IP phone service, so you need an ATA if you want phone service. But they will port your number and forward it starting at $5.95/month.

It's $7.95 per month which is a lot less than I'm paying qwest for landline service.

And it's not phone service, it's a forwarding service that will allow me to port my number which I've had for 20 years. I will forward it to MJ or GV
