Re: Task Scheduler

I just set up a task in the task scheduler (located in control panel) with the following command:

C:\Windows\system32\shutdown.exe /r /t 01 /f

and the start in: C:\Windows\system32

Then just use the task scheduler to select when the task runs.

The meaning of the / commands are as follows:

Thanks, I got that working for restarts in the middle of the night twice a week.
One note though, task scheduler wasn't enabled to start automatically so when I tried to test the task it said that task scheduler wasn't running.
In order to get task scheduler running on startup do this:

Maxterm 8300 256 Mb CF Image XPe SP2 needed

I need an 256 Mb XPe SP2 image for a Maxterm 8300 Thinclient - the Maxterm uses a Compact Flash not a DOM. Anyone have one to lend/spare/sell? I would prefer a 256 Mb CF image with XPe SP2. Or anyone know how to modify an existing HP T57xx or Wyse XPe SP2 image for a 256 CF?
Any help would be ...

You need to make sure to register your MJ device within a year because if you'll do that after a year, your device will be void and good as USELESS.

Is there any way to check this? I don't see it on the packaging or in the TOS.

If true - Is there any way to check the date code on the device ...

Re: Does MJ "expire" a year after purchase, or act

I have a friend whose MJ won't install. His computer displays the error, "MagicJack is not supported by your version of Windows. Please check http://www.magicjack.com/requirements for more information. Detected version: Win NT 5.1 build 2600 [0.0]"

The strange thing is, he's running XP Pro on his ...

Re: Target drive

How do I select a target drive to install on?

If you are using the USB tool (by STxFarmer) to image (or backup or erase) your DOM, you do not need to "select a target drive". The e90 has only 1 "drive" (the DOM) (hda) and the USB tool will automatically write to or backup from that "drive" - it ...

I know the MJ Plus now defeats the purpose for these thin clients, but they have many other useful applications.

I'm not sure that the MJ+ has made the MJ Thin Client (TC) obsolete - as a matter of fact the TC can still be used with a wireless PCI adapter in the expansion slot (I'm talking only ...

The key is understanding XPe so here's a link on the basics of why DOS "can boot without specific drivers" (still needs scsi, etc) and why Win XP can boot from a CD-ROM (it has all the basic drivers it needs (see boot up messages on install). To compare apples to apples you may want to refer to ...

Wyse 9450/9455 = to Maxterm 8300?

Thanks spoolin01 for the fast response.
From replies I received, it appears that the Maxterm 8300 is a VIA 800 MHz Ezra with a VT133 chipset and a standard mini-itx mobo with a standard PC Award BIOS (not specially built for Maxspeed Corp).
From my research on the web, the Wyse V90L and the Neoware ...

Hi spoolin01,
Thank you for the quick reply.
I'll try imaging the CF with the above images. XPE is actually built on the machine it is intended to run so it's production image is identical to the hardware it was built for. Unlike the std XP, it does not install any drivers when it finds them, as it ...

It's not a big deal to get MJ to run on a thin client, assuming the unit is already flashed with a working XPe OS. You don't need someone else to configure or set it up for you. It takes about 5 minutes to configure the BIOS and OS, using the guidance available on this site. I've only used the Wyse ...

MJ cannot make calls to certain numbers - solved

I was having a problem with my MJ not being able to connect with a certain telephone number. Other than that, MJ has been working flawlessly for me for nearly a year now.
I finally got it fixed by chatting with MJ support (liveperson chat) on the 2nd try - it took a MJ supervisor to fix it by ...

Thanks VaHam for the BIOS settings. I am running TeamViewer and WinVNC but don't know how to set them up. Will try both the BIOS and remote access (TeamViewer and WinVNC) and let you know.
I have a feeling that the BIOS - disable "halt on all errors" should do the trick.

Got any BIOS settings/suggestions to make it run headless?

After you have it all setup and working do you keep a monitor, keyboard, mouse attached and running or can you take them off and run it that way?

Assuming your machine doesn't revolt at the idea of running sans mouse/kybd/monitor, you should try something like teamviewer or logmein to remotely ...

Headless thin client setup - BIOS or software or both

Hi,
I am running a MagicJack on a Neoware CA10 (512 Mb DOM/756 Mb RAM) and also on a Neoware CA22 (1Gb DOM/1GB RAM) successfully. The problem is that I have to hook up a monitor/mouse/keyboard until each TC finishes booting and MagicJack is initialized and ready. I can then disconnect the monitor ...
