I was told when I signed up last Sept that the port was a one time charge....LIE!!!!!!!!! just renewed for another year and was charged $10.43 to renew number for one more year. MJ support said I could change to a number they give me and not pay the yearly port charge.

As soon as the port goes through, your original land line account will be closed. I would call to verify though.

I just got the same email today. Funny thing is I bought the plus in oct and never had the original. My son-in-law who has the original and wants to upgrade keeps waiting for his offer.

It took about a week to complete. MJ sent me an email telling me my port was complete a day or two after it was already switched over.

Don't worry, just click to port number anyway. My provider was Charter and not on the list. It went through with no problems.

The annual fee is for vanity numbers. If you port your number, it's a one time fee.

I moved my MJ Plus about 4 feet from my modem and router and have not experienced any beeps since. If this continues working, my question is why didn't the people at MJ figure it out? Makes you wonder how they ever developed the product in the first place.

I had the same problem. I just put it through anyway and my number was ported in about a week. Don't expect much notification from MJ, I found out when my current land quit working. MJ sent me an email about 8 hours later.
