well today was the day. The number did port successfully without me paying MJ a dime. Had a hiccup where i could make outbound calls but not inbound ones but that was resolved with a quick change in my voip.ms account settings.

im porting my number from MJ to voip.ms and the FOC date is on the 20th, same day my MJ service is set to expire. the voip.ms rep said there shouldnt be any issue as they've done this in the past. i got an email from MJ who sent me to a website to complete the porting and its asking for a credit ...

I use a Linksys WRT54GL with Tomato Firmware.

Not sure if you've checked the Belkin manual, but page 37 shows you how to use Static IP Reservations while DHCP is enabled on your router. You can setup the MJ+ to use a internal static ip and your other devices can connect via the DHCP.

first time i'm hearing about that option from Magicjack.com

What IP configuration is the Magicjack Static IP asking for? The ISP's public IP Address or a LAN IP?

I asks for IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway IP, Broadcast IP, DNS Server 1 and DNS Server 2, so I'm assuming it's internal LAN info ...

how are you trying to assign a Static IP? I have my MJ+ assigned to a Static IP via my router's firmware settings. I also got it setup to use the MAC address to give it highest priority via QoS.

The Static IP is assigned in my internal network, not a public IP address.

On a MAC the upgrade takes place automatically,the 12.3 meg download goes fast on cable internet and the green lucky you stays on the screen for about 4 seconds.

I've seen a link on this forum for apple MAC upgrades.

You can find it in the MagicJack FAQ, search for apple upgrade.

MJ doesn't support CNAME, which gives you the caller's name information along with the telephone number. Maybe it will be supported in the future.

how long does the upgrade take? I got my MJ+ Monday and i plugged into my Macbook to set it up. I can't remember if i saw the "Lucky You" message indicating an upgrade of the firmware. Would it be safe to manually run it again just to make sure?

i'm also having the same issue. I'm central time zone and its giving me eastern time zone time stamps as well as making my telephone display the eastern time in the built-in clock.
