I don't understand how to use multiple phones with Ooma.
With MJ you just run a phone line from the MJ to the wall and disconnect the old phone line coming into the house. Then I can use all 3 phones with MJ.

With Ooma, it sounds like you need the little extra hardware thingy.......is that true ...

My MJ died a couple of months age and I've been looking for an alternative...... I like the idea of the phone working with the pc off....... I'll just sell my thin client to help pay for the cost of the Ooma.

But actually.... earlier today I decided to check out a little free program I use on my main PC called "shutdown for windowsnt" by dimaware.

It has an option to schedule a reboot. I just put in the time and click ok. Works like a charm.....only once a day though. But that is fine.

Hi,
I was talking to my wireless high speed provider who is also my tech helper and good friend.

He said he went and read all the tech stuff at the MJ site and learned this:

MJ develops a bowl of garbage as it is used. Kinda like Cache on our pcs.
This can cause a problem if we talk for say 45min ...

I think I accidently fixed mine too.... I was in the DirectX dialog box and tested the audio..... I then comitted and then removed the 0.0.00 Talk dada in my host file....comitted and everything is working fine.

But I don't know if I'm now using the latest update.....I just know my MJ is not trying ...

I found the Remote client settings.... but when I set it to "leave at remote computer"....I don't see a way to save the change. There is a connect button....
How do you save the settings?

Well the sp 36531 didnt work for me. I'm still getting the no audio popup and I'm stuck on head phones.

What I did was:
1.Load the update on to my flash drive.
2.Stuck it into the TC.
3.closed MJ.
4.Ran the 36531 file.
5.went to the Altirus folder in program files.
6.Went into the rip folder and ...

installing the memory upgrade for 5710

Hi again.....
Got my 512mb memory stick today.

The stick is so close to the side of the chassis, I'm not shure I can get the old stick out and the new one in.

So I need some advice..... Do I need to tear the whole Thin Client apart to slide the memory in place?
Or is it ok to slide the memory in ...

well I had a problem with installing the XPe after I put in the new 1gig flash drive. dos would start up and then I would get an error cuz XPe was looking for something on the flash drive and couldn't find it.....

The problem was....drum roll plez....

I didn't push the new flash drive all the way ...

Just make sure its a PNY....

This is what I bought on Ebay. It worked where my newer style 8gig didn't.

Did you try the mjrecover tool? That worked for me but you have to have MJ softphone up and running when you use it.

When you go into options does it give you an option to "switch to headset"? If not, then you are in headset mode and your phone won't work. MJrecover tool can help here ...

What about the "Ram Disk Manager"?
Would it help at all to increase that from 16mgs to say 32?

Also I'm getting a "Virtual memory low" sometimes. Any ideas...?

PROBLEM SOLVED!!

Hi,
I'm ready to upgrade my flash card but I'm not sure how to open/unlock the case.....
I see the little metal thingy on the back but don't want to break something (which I'm good at!)

Last night I emailed Transcend and they got back to me today which is pretty cool! (Sunday)

They said they don't keep these kinds of parts in stock so that is why the back order notice. But they usually get the part sent out within 2 or 3 days. Maybe dropped shipped from a warehouse somewhere.

My 2c worth.....

Ok I'll bla bla bla :-)

Got my Magic Jack and while waiting for my TC, I tried it out on my main pc. Plugged it in and .....nothin! It was like my puter didn't even see MJ.
This pc is optimizes for audio recording, has a pro audio card, 3 hard rives and about 10 partitions. Bunch of usb stuff, etc ...

You pretty much figured out my post. I will get one of the sticks you talk about.

In the meantime, the current XPe image appers to be fresh. So I'm working with that.....Got everything modified and installed MJ and teamviewer.

I can't get the TC-5710 winxpe exe to format my flash drive so i can load the image.

I have a USB FLASH DRIVE stick SAMSUNG MEMORY 8GB.

When I click on the exe, I then select usb. then its says it will format the usb drive.

Don't forget the thin client must support WinXP or Vista. I saw most of the off brands didn't. MJ wants one or the other.

Got my TC today (HP 5710) and already got my magicjack.

TeamViewer Update

Hi HolmanGT,
Just wanted to let you know that I tried TV on my wifes pc today and it worked fine. No problems with the password.

And I have been using my backup pc today and it has been working great. A few hiccups I think becaus my wireless network card on that pc only goes about 12mps sometimes ...
