NT6k happy-camper
Just thought I'd mention I got a NetTalk 6000 and it has worked for me very well. They got the DTMF problem resolved about 3 or 4 days after I received my unit, they have activated voice mail, and on my Uverse set-up, I've not had a single port or connection loss issue.

No help for MJ, but NT lets you manipulate it
I may be hanging up my MJ for the NetTalk 6000 for several reasons, but regarding this thread, now that NT has voicemail working, they also let you turn it on or off at the service point. Just sayin'..... MJ should be so kind.....

How can I disable Music on Hold?
Ok, so seems most people like the "Music on Hold feature, but it is particularly annoying in my case - is there a way to disable it?
Case in point, getting some of these 'random' occurrences of call being put randomly on hold. When that happened while I was on a conference call, we had to ...

I'm a happy jack'er now!
It may not be the ideal solution for everyone, but for me it is spot-on! I got MJ to fill a gap need because I am temporarily working from home. Didn't want to get a second phone line because my next assignment may come any day and may be back in an office.

a way to "stake" the volume setting?
Is there a way to make the volume setting stay through a re-boot? I have to jack my mic up to 100% even with this new fix to have a tolerable voice level, and I would like to have it stay where I set it, vs the "default" every time the machine reboots.

Once working, how to deal with touch-tone in automated sys?
Hi all -
Been following this thread and may do this someday, but currently no need as I have a "server" that is up 24x7 anyway, and have my MJ plugged into it, with a corded phone from it to my office desk. This may be a slight rabbit-trail but have y'all figured out how to deal with touch-tone ...

Any solution when softphone is downstairs?
Using the MJ on a 'server' computer (really the one I have my printers hooked up to) which stays up 24x7 in a closet in the basement. Using a corded phone on the main floor. So, using the softphone or keyboard is not an option.

can you say Grand Central + MJ?
I think this is a winning combination. Use Grand Central as your 'published' number - also seems you'll have a better chance of getting a local. Then, you are in control. Computer off, computer crash, whatever.... just going to a friends house! You can have your GC "follow" or "find" you on ...

USB in VirtualBox?
Hey all - been taking a look at VirtualBox to be able to run MJ while doing my real work in Linux (Ubuntu 7.10). I have VB installed, loaded XP Pro SP1, but do not see any way to tell it to use USB devices. None show up in the Device Manager, even though my USB mouse/keyboard are working fine ...

USB in VirtualBox?
Hey tvland - how did you get USB ports in VirtualBox? I've loaded it up and installed XP, but when I plug in my MJ, it just pops open the file browser in Linux, and XP doesn't see anything.... And in my VB Control Panel, I don't see any USB ports. Not an option on the VB config panel that I can see ...

Is it just the HP's that work?
This thread has clearly settled on a bias for HP T57xx TC's. Is this because they are the only ones that work or is it because it is the platform most plentiful that was first figured out?
I ask being very cheap.... I see some other TC's on ebay that come cheaper, so just wondering....

Sounds like underwater after vacation
Hi. Was using MJ o.k. before I left for a short vacation. Used it with the same laptop from the hotel while gone, and it worked nicely. However, returned home, and all calls (in or out) today sound like I'm talking underwater. Did something happen over the weekend?

Of course it's been ...

Working? Not so sure
Maybe it a roll-out thing, but my 314 area code number still gets the "Magic no-ring/no-answer" when I try to reach VM.
