...and in less than an hour here, my MJ+ has been up without reset for 8 days. I've never had it run this long. I'm pretty certain at this point that bridging the NVG510 to another router (in my case, an old Belkin) has solved this issue for me.

So far, so good... 9p tonight will be 48 hours UP... looking good! Nevadaneal, I don't think mine ever made it a week - I was usually good for a day or two at best - so if I make it to tomorrow, I think I'll consider it 'solved' for me...!

As far as a router to recommend... I've used a ton of 'em ...

About 14 hours still up and running right now...! This is looking encouraging...!...

Nevadaneal, if it's the 2wire gateway that AT&T supplied (with the modem built in), I don't think that'll work - there's no WAN port on that, so there wouldn't be a good way to separate the 'outside' from the ...

Okay, so tonight, I did a factory reset on my NVG510 (under Diagnostics, Resets, Reset Device). I also did a factory reset on my old wireless g Belkin that I've had for quite a few years.

After that, set the NVG510 to bridge (manually) by following the instructions on Ron Berman's blog, item #6 ...

...and I'm back to getting 'error 23'. FRUSTRATED! Okay, until now, I've drug my feet at bridging this awful NVG510 (because I shouldn't HAVE to) - but at this point, just because of the other issues - er, FEATURES - it has, I'm really thinking that the it is the culprit. Inasmuch, I'm going to ...

:) I really don't think the MJ+ is the problem here... I really think that the issue is this crummy NVG510. It has issues... DNS doesn't work correctly in it (so you have to assign Google DNS to your individual TCP connections to get consistent connectvity), PPTP VPN doesn't work... heaven knows ...

...but NO. Connection stayed up for about 2-3 hours, then went back to "error 23". So, here's what I've tried since (condensed version).

1) Set the MJ+ back to using dhcp (plugged into the computer, via my.magicjack.com).
2) Logged into my NVG510, and went to Firewall, IP Passthru and set the ...

Try this:

1) Get the physical MAC address of your MagicJack Plus or computer ethernet adapter if you are using the magicjack through your computer.

2) Type http://192.168.1.254 in your internet browser.
- Click on "Firewall" at the top, then click on "IP Passthrough"
- Enter the Access Code ...

Re: Magic Jack Plus and AT&T Uverse Motorola NVG510

Has anyone been able to find a solution for reliable connection for this router? Have setup port forwarding, pass through, set packet filter on. There is no DMZ setting. Getting error 23 intermittently, will work ok sometimes for a week and sometimes will get error twice in one day. Thanks ...
