Thanks, Bill. Looks like I can't get Voice in Canada. Too bad, the GVJack stuff looks great.
Appreciate the info!

MJ+ and Google Voice/Talk in 2015?
Hi,
I decommissioned my MJ+ dongle after a few years of use. It's collecting dust, but I'm wondering if there's a way to use it with Google Voice/Talk these days? I have seen some tutorials online but they all appear to be older posts, so not sure if they're still relevant.

Possible to sell a MJ+ dongle?
Hi,
I'll be porting out of MJ sometime this year. I still have the MJ+ dongle and have no more use for it. I know these used to be repurposed through Google Voice but is that possible any more? I don't think someone else can activate a used dongle for a new MJ account -- is that right?
Thanks!

Porting from MagicJack experience?
Hi all,
Has anyone successfully ported out of MJ/MJ+ to another service provider? I've read some horror stories regarding extra charges and other delays, but that was awhile back. Wondering how the process is these days and if anyone can relay their experience.
Would be appreciated. Thanks!

QoS for MJ+ and TP-Link modem/router?
Hi all,
I've had the MJ+ since 2012 and generally it's worked fine. However, something that's always bugged me is the slight static/choppiness that occurs when one person in the house is using a phone connected to MJ+ and another is using a computer. Our net connection is 6 mbps DSL so should be ...

1-888 number no longer works with MJ+
Hey all,
Have had the MJ+ for over a year and, while I'm happy with it overall, I know it's not without its share of quirks and annoyances.
A few weeks ago, my wife tried calling our bank's 1-888 number. Rather than getting the usual automated voice response, she got a fast-beeping dialtone (kind ...

Try this thread: http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/magic-jack-plus-update-files-t12336.html . Look for the October firmware. I downgraded to this and haven't had a dropped call for 6 months or so now.
I think the Mediafire link is invalid now, but someone should be able to repost it for you.

I don't have that router, but did you try DOWNGRADING your MJ+ firmware? When I downgraded, my dropped calls issue disappeared.

Ditto! What a breakthrough. Glad it's working well for everyone.Keizer wrote:Still no dropped calls to report!!! I am considering my MJ plus fixed!!
Some people have said they told MJ techs about this fix, but should we keep it on the downlow? I'm afraid that they'll mess something up again for us.

Hmmm, interesting, although we got our MJ+ late February and it worked fine for around a month. THEN the dropped calls started. So the degraded service may have to do with the trial period being over?
I'd like to troubleshoot the MJ+ firmware, though, and roll back to an earlier one. How would I go ...

MJ+ on a thin client?
Silly question, but does MJ+ work okay on a thin client? With all the issues with dropped incoming calls lately, I wanted to look into this as an option.
Thanks!
Thanks!

My wife just called from work and the call dropped at the 10 minute mark. :(
Overall, the performance has been better since I changed the router firmware, but it looks like the random drops are still a reality.

Dropped calls fixed? (MagicJack Plus on TP-Link TD-W8960N)
Hi, all.
I'm a first time poster, long time reader. For anyone who can't get their MJ+ to hold incoming calls, I'm hoping this post will help.
