I'll be porting out of MJ sometime this year. I still have the MJ+ dongle and have no more use for it. I know these used to be repurposed through Google Voice but is that possible any more? I don't think someone else can activate a used dongle for a new MJ account -- is that right?

Did you read my post? You can't use software to record calls from a MJ+ plugged into the router.

The MJ+ connected to your router is just that: connected to the router, not your computer. Thus, you cannot use a recorder on a computer that cannot interface with the MJ+; it would only work, as someone else said, when the + is hooked up to USB.

In your case, you'd need a hardware recorder that ...

You can usually control the bandwidth allocation limits in torrent clients themselves. Simply lower the limits for downloads and uploads.

Continuing to have excellent service, too, since the firmware downgrade. I even changed modems/routers (kept MJ+ at the same firmware), and MJ+ still works flawlessly.

I don't have that router, but did you try DOWNGRADING your MJ+ firmware? When I downgraded, my dropped calls issue disappeared.

What's the point of buying MJ PLUS? To avoid leaving the PC on 24/7, right? In other words, MJ plus is designed to be used in a router. So, if that's the case, I don't think your suggestion will do it...peace man. Thanks for that though.

I can't speak for others, but a few days before my downgrade, I was prompted to update my MJ+. Dropped calls persisted. Then I did the downgrade and noticed immediate improvement; at the time I did the downgrade, others on the board were still reporting call dropping issues.

Sadly, we just experienced a dropped incoming call this evening (no change to the MJ+ update file or anything).

We had a good streak going, but I guess MJ is up to its old ways. Will see over the next while if the overall reliability has been affected at all.

Just had another long incoming call (50 min) without any drops. Woohoo! This is starting to look up! Thanks to spc for providing the October upgrade link.

Do others have any news to report on the stability of incoming calls?

I did the same. An incoming call lasted 45 min last night. Been awhile since we've been able to talk that long on our MJ+ so that's progress, but will believe the fix worked if there are no dropped calls all week.

Hmmm, interesting, although we got our MJ+ late February and it worked fine for around a month. THEN the dropped calls started. So the degraded service may have to do with the trial period being over?

Overall, the performance has been better since I changed the router firmware, but it looks like the random drops are still a reality.
