i had the same thing happen to me with my MJ plugged into desktop early this year, so i plugged it into my laptop and everything was ok. then i bought a MJ+ and plugged it into my desktop, set it up and everything was ok. now it's plugged into my modem/router working fine.

Ok; thanks for all the great input. i had a mj tech on the live chat go in my pc remotely and for a day it worked fine; now the same problem which is that a screen pops up saying the device is unplugged....what are people doing about this issue? i've un/reinstalled, done upgrades, used the mj ...

My pc stays on all the time so thats not an issue; that setup looks complicated. I had a mj tech go on my pc remotely and it did appear to be fixed for a day........now, not so much:( thanks

If you want to have something really cheap without hassle, get the GV Jack- the guy who developed it posts on this forum ( redpepper) . You can reuse your Magic Jack dongle for it and for $ 20.- one time fee you will be able to enjoy Google Voice for free.
Forget MJ, Nettalk, Ooma. or any other ...

Expressburn software conflicting with MJ

I have used magicjack for a few years and love it; i recently installed Expressburn burning software. i just now found out that it has a voip softphone called Expresstalk integrated into the burning software which makes no sense to me.
Anyway, the thing is causing my MJ to shut down and restart ...

update - I enabled the two communications options in .NET and reinstalled the magicjack service but still have no dial tone. I have removed the service and am using the software dialer for now.

My magicjack has worked satisfactorily for over two years now until recently. first thing to happen was that i was not getting a home phone dial tone; i would unplug and replug the device and that would fix it and i could talk for hours.

these days my call drops after a few minutes and a mj splash ...

I plugged the MJ into this newly open port & plugged the printer in elsewhere....

Much to my surprise, this worked. I have absolutely NO idea why, but I have tested this while simultaneously on the phone & heavily using the internet for a total of about 5 hours - -

NO MORE PROBLEMS/RESETS/DROPPED ...
