MJ+ lets me phone Canada and the US for free.

International calling rates, overseas seems pretty cheap to Britain. I have not tried to Venezuela, but Google phone was cheap to Morocco.

Funny, when mine died they wanted the old one back before they sent a new one. Canadian postal rates are higher, so I just bought one. It cost me $10.

I don't understand your problem.

If your phone is connected to the MJ, the call will always go thru the phone, regardless of where it (the MJ) is plugged into .

I use the MJ+ as my house phone, and the wireless phones all over the house, pick up the calls. Why would you want it any other way?

Is phone line plugged into MJ+?

Or have you forwarded calls to your phone?

I'm assuming you have a regular land line, or no?

I had an e-mail from MJ, suggesting I try the number and tell them exactly what time i did it.

I did that with ten digits with the same failure.

Tried with 1+ten digits, and it went thru, but it would not before.

Tried again with ten digits and it worked, twice.

Problem solved?

For what it is worth, I have gone thru our sessions with MJ chat, a total of about five hours. Each time I got to do the same tests over and over, with the same result. I finally said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

I checked the "blocked number" with two other systems, and they both worked.

After time with two techs at MJ support, I determined that I cannot phone anyone with the same area code.

They started a ticket to resolve it and I'm waiting.

I have a friend who just moved into the same area code as I use on MJ+. He is using a regular land line phone, the same hardware as he used in his previous location, with a different number, including the area code.

I cannot phone him with MJ+ as it always rings busy. I tried several times over ...

You forgot about connecting the MJ+ to the house, through any telephone outlet after the AT&T line is disconnected. Mine works that way.

I live about 100 km from Edmonton, so most calls would be long distance to me with whatever system I had, if I had a local number . I have always had Edmonton no's including cell phones and MJ. No one has ever complained about long distance to me.

I just tried again, My old log stopped 08/27, with no calls recorded until 11/08 when three calls were recorded. None since then .

At about that time my MJ quit and was plugged back into the computer to update .

It seems to work differently for different people. Odd.

It appears that not even the techs we get to talk to on Chat really understand the rules. They recite the rules but seem to have no access to the actual data that led to the decision.

Somebody is not telling the truth. For example, in order to enforce the rule, they have to have access to the call logs, which they told me, they do not have access to.

There are reports in another thread of people getting their service cancelled because of too many calls, but now I am told they can't see the log.

I would not bet on what those lights mean.

My MJ+ has only ever had one light, flashing amber when the phone is able to be used. Tech support has asked several times about other lights , notably blue, which I have never seen, even when MJ+ is working fine.

Don't throw away your MJ dongle. You can get some money back out of it.

Anyone with gmail account can make calls on google phone, free in North America, and cheap overseas. But you can't get calls because you don't have a number.

I'm amazed at the number of different problems and symptoms.
My MJ+ has quit several times and been fixed through the chat process. In two different sessions the people changed my router settings, in two different places.
