That is the thinking behind FIOS...however being an RF engineer I fully expect to be able to receive all those services via RF in the near future. It will be far less expensive to maintain than any terrestrially based wire of fiber optic services.

If you can plug your MJ directly into a rear USB port if even temporarily, that will answer your question. Other than that there really isn't any way of knowing...at best we can only guess.

OK...thanks for the reply. If they do give a timeframe I will be real interested in running some tests with the wireless card. Right now the MJ bandwidth useage is about 85kbps...I hope this will drop it into the 55-65kbps range.

Did they say when they would be instituting the new lower bandwidth codec. I use my MJ with a Sprint wireless card and the lower the bandwidth used the better. Just wondering if he gave a timeframe. Hopefully he didn't use the word "soon". :wink:

Part of paying only $20 a year for unlimited north american calling is you don't get all those amenities. Vonage has that type of customer service, but it is $30 a month for the same service that MJ offers. That is part of their business plan.

The magicjack dongle is out of beta. I believe magicfix is still in beta as well as other programs within the infrastructure. Within the last few months we have seen infrastructure upgrades every few weeks. The system still has a way to go, but they are working on it.
