Problem here! I was using MJ and it worked fine. About 10 days ago, I went to use it... cannot use the telephone (physical) to dial out... no dial tone, and cannot punch in the numbers using the keypad on the hard phone itself.. (nothing happens!?

I switched over to the softphone ...

Well, took the MJ to work - plugged the MJ in - waited for it to download its thing... and then dialled out... guess what..... the MJ works like a charm on my work computer.... just have to figure out what's up with my computer at home!!!!!!!!!

Okay, after dialling *674*164390000 ... still the call does not go through.

This MagicJack is more of a pain in the butt now.... Chatted with MJ Tech.. LOL... they told me to change my phone! What I don't understand is .. I can make locals in the Boston area, 800 line works, calling to cellular ...

That comment is so true, MJ Tech Support aren't much help. Reading the fourms gives you more insight into the known issues.

It was a no go... tried doing: *674*390000 - no dialing sound. Is it because of my MJ area code 617 number??

I tried calling a local Pizza joint in Boston (617) ... called local without the area code and got through - so I know I can make local calls in the Boston area... but I live in ...

Hopefully sooner...!!! Time will tell.

Okay here'd the deal...

MJ works for me dialing cell numbers both inbound and outbound (Fido,Telus) in the Toronto area. My MJ number is from area code (617)

I can dial 800 numbers with no issues. However, I tried dialing using a local (416) number - ie.416-439-0000 (Pizza Nova)
Nothing.... tried ...

I haven't had any luck either in local calls.... did dial without the area code, and got some lady in Amherst Mass... LMAO... she called me back to see why I had called her in the first place..!!!

800 's work fine also.

Okay, unhooked the VPN.... Same problem. I can receive calls to MJ from my cell phone (no issues there! Ya!) however,
when I go to dail out from the telephone connected to MJ - I get the dial tone, enter the numbers... then nothing..., and more nothing (I don't even hear it right on the headset) - I ...

Okay, from Toronto ONT Canada.

MJ arrived in the mail... plugged the little baby in... No issues with the setup.

I got a dial tone on my phone after plugging it into MJ - however when I dialed my cell number - (dead air) but heard my cell phone ring. Answered it.... but could not hear on either ...

Not sure what this Canadian was talking about? Maybe the unoffical hack forums?

My MJ phone gets a dial tone, I diall the number, the phone does ring on the other end... however cannot hear anyone.

Running through a VPN.... should I just try running it directly without the VPN?
