Finally...something about the MJ that works as advertised. I find myself using my jack less and less. Either people can't hear me, or I can't hear them. The call quality seems to be getting worse than better.

I was told the anniversary date is from the time you actually register, not from the order date. I have a jack I have not even registered yet. May have to do a little test.

I never implemented Gizmo as an active setting on my GC UI, but I no longer have that option. There is no setting available for a Gizmo number any longer on my user panel.

No More Gizmo Support from GrandCental

I am thinking that GrandCentral no longer is supporting Gizmo sip numbers. This option is no longer visible in GC "settings".

OK, I edited my comment to reflect the facts. MJ can do anything they want...any time they want. They can even discontinue the service without notice or change the terms of service at any time with no consequence. However, I doubt anyone is going to sue them for something that costs only 40 bucks.

I confirmed with Tech Chat some time ago that the 30 day trial starts from the date of registration. However, this crew can change the game at any time. Just read the TOS. MJ holds all the cards, and can do anything they please.

Well...my problem was solved already, per my second post in this thread. I have deleted and terminated UTSCSI.exe
and CLCVO forever, never to return. I did not run the MAC fix, nor do I plan to. I have no need to do this.

Could not tell you for sure. If you search this forum for either term, you will see that it does not seem integral to making MJ function. My jack is running fine. These two files were messing up my booting, and hanging other processes up. I just wanted to get rid of it.

You do need it and UTSCSI ...

Delete UTSCSI.exe and Disable CLCVO as a Service

I did this tonight and tested it. I have posted this elsewhere, and it works OK.

Control+Alt+Delete > Task Manager and then end the process UTSCSI.exe
Then go to: Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services and set the service CLCVO to Disabled.

Shut Down>Reboot and check Task Manager again. Delete the ...

Completely Delete UTSCSI as a Process

Bah...that's exactly what I don't want. "MJ running as a service".

Below is what I managed to come up with and it seems to work.

Control+Alt+Delete > Task Manager and then end the process UTSCSI.exe
Then go to: Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services and set the service CLCVO
to Disabled.
Shut ...

UTSCSI Process and Files

I think it may possibly be tracking software or adware. That is probably why the jack works without it, and why it acts, or looks like a virus, and is so pesky about returning to the scene of the crime.

It is at least 2 tier, if you can believe. Tech Chat told me they would have to check with an engineer, but that could be blue smoke, wishful thinking, or a way to blow off customers.

Yeah, I know. You should see the crazy Tech Chat I had. Support kept asking if I had a firewall, or if I could make calls. I kept saying what the heck does that have to do with incoming calls when my computer is not even powered up?

Thanks, but this does not compute. I am talking about people calling my MagicJack number when my computer is off, or dialing
my MagicJack number from another telephone, not calling out from my MJ to pick up voice mail. However, I will mix it up and see what happens.

I think I have seen this in the forum...is there a way to uninstall the process UTSCSI.EXE and still have MagicJack work? Tech Chat told me that this is integral to running MJ software properly, but I don't believe it.

I think it has something to do with the the USB. It makes my computer run slow ...

Yep. People keep banging their heads on this board trying to interface with cellular. I know, I am one of them.

I am starting to think "screw that", and just get a wi-fi enabled phone and slap Asterisk in a lappy. Should work in most cases.

Then grab a landline or cellphone when it doesn't. Ha

Just a word of caution...having recently purchased one of these, I would say that is a tad expensive for this device. Save up and get a bluetooth headset.

How did you delete it from your box? You must have deleted it from somewhere else other than just the taskbar window...cause it would come back whenever you are running a process. I actually had tech support ask me to delete it from the taskbar early on when I was first having installation issues ...
