For a pc computer solution I would imagine you could run the magicjack line to the telephone line in on your computers modem or another computer's modem and then have auto attendant software answer the modem line and do its thang from there.

Your description of what you did is a bit confusing to me as sound/audio devices aren't usually a selection under program events. The default devices for sound and voice are not on the Sounds tab but on the Audio tab and the Voice tab. Defaults should be your sound card for Audio and MJ for voice ...

The audio thing is a bug in Windows technically and not magicjack. Windows doesn't handle the install of a USB audio device properly, it assumes the new device should be the default. Just go to control panel, sound device and make adjustments on the voice and audio/sound tabs. Search the forums ...

Maybe your USB port is losing power or having power cut off by the computer for power saving. Make sure the USB port for the magicjack is configured so that the computer can't turn it off. Try putting the magicjack on a powered USB hub might also work.

My macros are macro express macros. You would first have to purchase macro express to use them. You could do the same thing with autoit or autohotkey which are free macro programs, but my macros won't help you with that.

If you have a software firewall or router/firewall affecting your computer, if these items are setup improperly they can prevent inbound calls from reaching your computer and your magicjack. To test this temporarily disable your software firewall and router/firewall.

I have a macro that runs and kills the magicjack.exe and puts the computer to sleep after X minutes of inactivity. Another macro reloads magicjack.exe when I wake up the computer.

Never been a problem for me.

I kill and restart magicjack usually several times a day for one reason or another.

You can change caller ID Name but not number with those additional features. Those additional features you mention are also available in the Mega skin and the Giga Skin. You just haven't pushed the right button yet on those skins to see these additional options.

I use the version 2.3 of the comodo firewall. I prefer its feature set to the 2.4 and 3.0 versions of the firewall. I haven't tried their antivirus. Has it been subjected to any testing or comparison testing with some of the other free anti-viri like avg and avast ??

I successfully changed the numbers on my two magicjacks today. That made the yellow light for 911 go away for me.

Hopefully they will fix the polling. They definitely know its an issue based on comments made by me and others on the old board.
