Re: Bluetooth headsets
Can MJ detect a Bluetooth headset when it is on Yes, most of the times, as bluetooth headset is detected by bluetooth service and made available to any application that could use bluetooth headset. I use a couple bluetooth headsets (Samsung. Motorola) with MJ calls without any issue. and being worn ...

MagjcJack VOIP call uses 80 Kbps (kilo bits/sec) each way, so for a 2-way conversation = 80 x 2 = 160 Kb/sec or 576,000 Kilo bits/hr ( 160 Kb/sec x 3600 ) or 562.5 Mega bits/hr ( 576,000 Kb/hr / 1024 ) or 70.3 Mega Bytes/hr ( 562.5 Mb/hr / 8 ) But these figures are strictly VOIP calls, assuming 3 ...

Re: 2 Magicjacks, one computer
The search function here is horrible, so will just post what I was searching for. Is it possible to run two jacks on one PC? I'm having trouble making that happen. Quick/short answer is NO for most people. Long answer is YES if you have the skill to run VM (virtual Machine) on top of Windows. If ...

Re: Qos RSVP
I was just wondering if this has anything to do with MJ. I am running Windows XP Pro. I noticed since setting Qos RSVP to automatic has seem to improve my call quality or is this just a coincidence. I was having very bad calls during the day and now they are almost perfect since I changed this ...

This is a joke!!! If you do this, you will short out your PC's USB port and perhaps kills the motherboard as well if the USB port does not have any fuse/circuit protection. That Rj11/12-to-USB adapter is designed for special equipment that could use that particular adapter or to use phone extension ...

Re: Breaking Up
Calls break up - like when one has a bad connection on a cell phone. The voice cuts in and out. I'm using a laptop on wi-fi, could that be the problem? I have FIOS with 15 down and 5 up. My wireless laptop connection gets 10 down and 4 up. Are you using 2.4Ghz cordless phone with your MJ? If so it ...

Do you want Dan to offer BYOD now?
I have the feeling that Dan might have thrown the BYOD plan out the window  the FAQs at the magicJack.com used to mention the availability of BYOD "soon". That info is now gone from the FAQs. I guess Dan is planning to make it rich by just selling the MJ devices and not selling phone number ...

That's good. It seems your firewall is off and VOIP score of 4.3 is as perfect it could get. When the MJ softphone shows "ready to call", try to dial other numbers you know, not just your cell phone. Are you sure you turned off the firewall? Does the MJ softphone display "Ready to call" on the top near your MJ number? Try to test your internet connection for VOIP call handling to see if it's going through ok:

Most people are happy with their MJ purchase and had no issue installing the MJ device. The no Caller-ID issue is a known bug but you could fix that with the 100K resistor mod.
