In Dubai, all VOIP are blocked including Vonage. You can not call from Dubai to any number in US using VOIP.

I have no problem using MJ until today that I discover MJ cannot call the Canadian cell phone #. Apparently the way to overcome this issue is to use *67+first digit of area code+*+rest of the number.

The -r option for shutdown also causes a reboot not just a shutdown. So the instructions above will in fact perform an automated reboot at whatever time(s) you specify.

I guess I just prefer to use built-in options rather than third party programs when ever I can. But as long as the cat gets ...

1. Control Panel highlight magicJack.exe then End Process
2. Delete C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\mjusbsp

For what its worth, I did add a DIR-655 QoS router and it helped alot. Even with my nice router, I can cause some distortion if I am running uTorrent or Azureus (Vuze now) and doing heavy traffic .... On my 5700, dxdiag was not available until I installed 9.0C. I do not know if there were other components of DirectX present, but dxdiag was not there. Thank you .... so based on the fact that the dxdiag utility is not present by default it is desirable to proceed with installing the 9.0C version ...

How do you force an update, just execute the update? or what. Yes, just find the '3084' upgrade and execute. Make sure to FLUSH the cache for your system. After you force the upgrade then COMMIT and REBOOT.

Looks like you just have to install DirectX and Commit, reboot, force update and you should be good to go

To get the latest upgrade to work I suspect that the Altiris XPe Add-On (DirectX) needs to be installed. I currently do not have enough memory on my TC [5710 800Mhz 256/256] to confirm my suspicion [requires 512/512] -- I've asked HolmanGT to try this out but so far he has not had the time to do so ...

Unfortunately the T5700 -- Altiris does not provide the DirectX Add-on. Perhaps the hardware on the T5700 is very different than the newer models.

There is evidently something different on your TC that prevented the new hardware from being automatically installed. I have not as yet found out why the Windows Found New Hardware Wizard did not fire up when MJ was inserted in the TC ... perhaps I was too aggressive when I began deleting stuff off ...

No Dial tone via Handset problem solved

Using unconventional means - I downloaded the drivers from Tiger Jet -- specifically the USB Internet Phone by Tiger Jet -- after which my Telephone handset dial-tone now works via the Thin Client.

What i do not understand is why the MJ installation does not install the USB Internet Phone by Tiger ...
