zekenav, I had the same issue. Is your user profile stored on a separate partition or external hard drive? I only had this problem when my user profile was on an external drive.

OK, so the ATA connects the phone to the router and the proxy software acts as the go between.

So where does one get the ATA from?

Otherwise, can you just utilize the router and the phone without the ATA.

MJ with Router and Regular Phone

I've been reading the posts about DD-WRT and MJ and SIP/ATA. Does anyone know of a way to utlize a router/ATA and a regular phone? Connect the phone to a port on the router to eliminate the PC?

Any help would be appreciated.

OK, So I was having this issue as well and tried the fixes above. I [reluctantly] contacted the MagicJack chat support thinking the worst, well, for me at least, it seemed to work. So here are the steps I took:

BTW, this is for Windows XP:


Go to Start - Run , then regedit and press enter.

I have a Mac and Yes it works fine. The only problem, (that I figured out on my own), is that if you use an ext. drive for your "profile", MJ doesn't work. Other than that, works great.
