Seeing that 9.0c (revB) is all that's available from HP for the T5710 thin client - what other choice is there? As I stated earlier, Windows XP already has DirectX components installed by default -- not sure which version -- and I suspect that XPe also has the default version of DirectX resident ...

Its not at all clear to me if DirectX version 9.0C is actually required. DirectX is required that has been confirmed by HolmanGT but we do not know if MJ has a DirectX version 9.0C specific dependency.

Hi guys. As a noob I have been watching this thread closely. After seeing all of the hoops that you guys had to jump through to get the update working I'm just wondering if it all was worth it. My MJ works pretty good on my t5710 with the old software. Are there some new developments in the latest ...

Lymon is correct I have never been able to make this work, so at the moment my MJ is running just fine using the down grade to the previous update, which is also a suggested work-around from Ymax which makes me think they might already be working on this bug.

Me too, I haven't done so many commits since I gave up marring women. This is starting to be a royal pain in the behind. I have also tried it on other flavors of Thin Clients with the same results. Hmmm isn't that the definition of insanity. Oh-well.

hendersonmike does not use an HP Thin Client - thus this thread doesn't apply to him.lymon wrote:The subtleness of your "tongue-in-cheek" innuendo has sailed way over my head. Would you care to elaborate? Thank you.

It's like inviting both of your girlfriends over for the same night, and then your wife decided at the last minute that she wasn't leaving town to visit her mother.

Don't leap out and buy anything just yet, I know there are several people claiming this fixed their problem. I tried it and it did not work on sever different machines. Re: Thin Clients / MagicJack / Future Upgrades?
To get the latest upgrade to work I suspect that the Altiris XPe Add-On (DirectX) needs to be installed. I currently do not have enough memory on my TC [5710 800Mhz 256/256] to confirm my suspicion [requires 512/512] -- I've asked HolmanGT to try this out but so far he has not had the time to do so ...

I also received one with somebody's application on it and locked down, I wrestled that puppy for sever hours also, so I know how frustrated you must have been.
It was locked down, but I didn't wrestle at all. I already had the HP XPe flash ready to go on a DOK. First thing I did was flash it back ...

Would be nice to be able to revert to the old version that worked with no issues. Does anybody know how to do this. Also I guess if that could be done I would like to know how to supress the unsolicited upgrade that breaks it.
