when i dial the phone will act like its calling it will go to the seconds menu and start counting how long i have been in conversation but i simply still hear just a dial tone

also oddly enough the phone in my other room is the only one that rings when i call the magicjack and its and odd low ring ic an make calls from the softphone fine

Well how come when I call people it still shows the old spoof name? Try this: start up Regedit (start->run->regedit), and browse down to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\talk4free\USB Softphone\Options\General\FullName
Set that value to the caller id name you wish.

after some major tinkering i finally got it working. i was able to change to the specified ip address, then back to teh proxy 127.0.0.1 proxy1.dallasatt.talk4free.com

then i upgraded to 8 megger then downgraded back to the 7 meg upgrade tried the new spoofer and it magically works again

changed my host file to

127.0.0.1 12.69.64.8 <---- basically to specify the IP address of my proxy of proxy1.dallasatt.talk4free.com and now the connection is working

downside is spoofing is still not working but i will play with this at least i can make ...

when i input my host 127.0.0.1 proxy1.Dallasatt.talk4free.com i have also tried to directly specify with 10.10.10.100 proxy1.Dallasatt.talk4free.com as well with little to no luck

basically what happens is i get the internet 3 error code and i can not connect at all to the magicjack service??

this stinks my spoofer has quit working as well i see what people are talking about

i have blocked the upgrade though the latest one and downgrade to the old one

i think this is outside the realm of that though. most people with the upgrade lose sound with the new upgrade.

this just started today but my magic jack is causing my computer to completely lock up freeze up i am forced to hold in the power button to reboot. 110% certain that the magic jack is the culprit on this as well.

this is super odd i can now not add my proxy to my host file. when i do so magic jack will not connect out to the internet

i have changed no setting when i take my proxy out of the host file i can get the ready to call message instead of error 3

i added my host file to be like this

and using version 1 i added the ip as this 67.107.71.134 for magicjack proxy

i have also tried version 1.1 and no luck ...

Does it matter what particular proxy you use?? below i did an nslookup for various proxies and compiled a list for those who want to edit host file manually this should make things a tad easier for you so you can just copy and paste ...

just got your pm i installed wireshark and oddly enough its not capturing packets i checked and it is listening in promiscuious mode??

anyhow not really sure why spoofer wont work for me tried other proxies as well as older version the only version i have yet to try is the perl version your first ...
