Been board today and had a new MJ plus die on me in first 2 min's after
getting phone number - been trying to "chat" - but all I get is a blank page

I hve only ran into 2 number that come up with the conf. crap .. no biggie
I just use my Google Voice and it goes right through .. yes it is BS but you
can not do anything about it ... u can buy a invite on Ebay if you want

Most phones hve a call clock on them .. when u get to 88 min's
hang up and call back .. this is what I do and have had NO problems
over the last yr

Yes Google voice is a work around - but - kinda strange that Nettalk
works with same number that MJ will not .. humm .. I am not saying run out and get Nettalk as they have Q problems also .. everybody has to make up there own mind on "is it worth what you pay for .. for what you get" .. bottom line ...

I just ran into the same problem .. Yesterday I called this number and
it worked just fine .. today I got the u need to buy min's .. I then went to
my Nettalk and used it and dialed the number and it went right through ..
It would seem MJ has stepped on some toes and knw is getting spanked
and we ...

I run both of these on one router [WRT54GLinksys] and hve no problem .. no this does not help you .. I do not even put the port crap in ..

I use the ext on mine for the last 6 months with no problems - you can feel the heat from the MJ and I would say it it away from the pwr cube

I have both MJ and Duo .. when one starts screwing up .. I use other one
for a few days .. between the both I get what I want out of what I payed
for them .. good thing abt Duo it has my local number

Been running updated firmware sence it came out and no dropped calls .. only dropped call I every had is when wife hook up another phone in her room on same freq as my phone .. un-pluged her phone and all works fine

I do not think someone hacked your MJ .. it's getting to be the time were everyone will be getting calls from Dem. or Rep. who want you to vote ..

DMZ does open up your Router a little ..it would take someone a long time to break into your router and then why go after MJ , also if you turned DMZ ...

Anyone "Going down in Firmware" use the MJ remove tool first .. then use the old MJ firmware.

If these files are right .. you will unplug your internet and run the old firmware .. then unplug your MJ + from your computer and put it in
your router .. as MJ does not seem to be able to update when in Router
this why they ask you to plug your MJ+ into your computer .. were as my other VOIP can ...

Run this program with MJ NOT con to your computer - then after running plug MJ in and it should say LUCKY U - ETC - see if this helps .. check and make sure this program does not add crap to ur computer ..

Do you see the lights flicker when pluged into A/C and the router ? = if u do then not USB Con .. when my MJ plus goes out to lunch I delete the firmware and re-load it ..

I have had none of these problems with my MJ+ .. I run WRT54G running WRT Firmware .. Did not do any of the port forwarding stuff .. only thing I did was to get the MJ away from the pwr so it does not heat up

Your also going to need a DMZ host IP add.

Not my internet speed test 21.99/2.10 - and with DD-WRT I hve not seen
any post's on this .. at least with nettalk they can go in and change settings
and this I like abt nettalk . except still got same problem .. gotta try another
phone for GP and see hw that goes .. got to much RF in this house ...

Tnx for all the info -- found that IDM for some reason was blocking
it .. spent 2 hr's with "dead chat" and nothing new abt dropped calls
I have a wrt54g with DD-WRT Firmware and these dead chat people
can not understand .. and after 2 hr's of try this and this .. they wore me out.

When I got the MJ+ and went to check out several times
the page asked if I wanted 5 yrs of service - then buy more
than one yr. , so I think MJ people are hoping you will get more
than just the one yr. On my old MJ I had the 5 yr plan and still have
2+ yrs left .. maybe this is a key who there ...

I had my MJ unpluged from computer for the last 4 months [ got Duo ]
and today I gave it to my wife to plug in and it came up with the deal ..
and bought it with no problems ..

I have had MJ knw for 4 yrs and it's been ok .. I also hve the Nettalk
and it wrks ok .. they both hve there good points and bad .. to me

I have been useing Nettalk knw for 6 months and after using MJ
for 3 yrs ..

With MJ you can see who called on ur computer and what numbers
you have dialed ..BUT computer has to be on to use

Nettalk has been OK - hve to re-boot 2-4 times a month and NO busy ..
computer does not hve to be on ...

Never used 9 to back up "7" - I run XP pro ..

The person will use a new part. - I just do not like the new
Acronis programs as they hve a BIG foot print on ur HD
and do more than what I want to do.. but to each his own

Easy - you make a F Part. and back up your .tib's there .
when u go for recovery it wants to put in what tib goes
were .. so U can back up ur Vista and call it f:\vista.tib
and for ur 7 f:\seven.tib and acronis let u pick what part.
you want these in .

I use Acronis True Image 9 as it's not top ...

Get Acronis and make a back up [ .tib] to ur D drive ..
been using this software for a long time and has saved me
MANY hr's of hveing to rebuild the OS .
Make sure your OS is clean before doing back up .

You will loose E-M and other programs that u install after
doing the .tib unless u inc. back ...

Wait until you tun across - you been infected - or Windows
Sercerty Alert - there are 2 "worms" that BRING DOWN
any and ALL anti virus programs and will NOT allow you to
run any program ..

The only way is to get Acronis ture Image and do a .tib back up

have e 50/50 chance of this working or not working
Hate not being able to drag it dwn to toolbar like before
was EASY without another program to make it do this

Before the upgrade used to be able to drag MJ all the
way dwn to just above the toolbar - knw it pops up abt
2 inch into screen. I can Min. it - but never used to have
to do this .. humm .. did a setting on my desktop get changed?

Any other apt I can drag to just above the toolbar and it stays ...

More "cons"

You can not drag the main MJ screen all the way dwn to the
tool bar - it will "pop up" abt 3 inch's into your screen .
You hve to right click on the MJ in your tool bar and do a min.

you will knw when you upgrade, the Menu is knw on the left
side.
