I lived in AK for 38 years and there are no issues with the phones. Calls are not expensive so this whole issue is MJ.

I switched to NetTalk and no longer need the computer OR have any areas I can not call. About the same cost now as well.

I had a similar issue (with NetTalk) and about a week later I had almost $5000 in charges all over Europe. Apparently someone had hacked the system and sucked off the CC numbers. In so doing it "looked" like the transactions did not complete. I tried about 3 times then got suspicious.

Basic phone service is not $60/month. More like $25 which in most cases is LESS than the cost of the Internet service required to use the MJ for a phone.

I have basic phone and it is about $18/mo inclusive.

Another option of course is he/you can stay put for free.

They told me that I would lose all of my pre-paid remaining service if I switched units. Losing 3 years of service make is NOT a great deal so I went to NetTalk instead.

NO ... any will work

My PC has the proper device (CM Audio REAR) set as the default and use only default box is checked.

In the menu of the soft phone under the headset it shows the audio device as (CM Audio FRONT) and I can not change it. There are no options to change it to the rear.

When I call my number from my cell phone I only get to the voice mail about 1 in 3 times. It usually just rings 4 times and then dies. It is properly configures. Several people tell me that they only get it occasionally. It obviously works, but only occasionally.
