i worked it out...

so my solution consisted of:

1) updating the drivers on the aftermarket usb 2.0 card. after that i was able to plug mj in w/o crashing the system.

2) unistalled mj using this process:

"WARNING: You must plug magicJack into USB"

I've been trying to install my magicjack and all I get is the message "WARNING: You must plug magicJack into USB"...ironic since it has to indeed be plugged into a usb for that message to even come up.

I've read through various posts and tried to trouble shoot it myself but I seem to be missing the ...
