Well, I haven't had the problems you've described, with the hangups after only seconds or minutes, so it probably has to do with your connection, as you've hypothesized.

AVG works great and I've used it since 2003. However, be careful about installing version 8. After I paid for mine and tried to install it, I got a message telling me that there was already antivirus software installed (AVG 7.5) and I'd have to uninstall that first before proceeding. Actually, Stewart, Magic Jack is the TigerJet RJ-11 to USB adapter with the Magic Jack logo printed on it. Borislow simply bought a license to make his own version and sell it, most likely.
