Haven't made time to look over the new GrandCentral
but I'm hoping you can now turn off voicemail.

I know you can switch off the 'press one to accept call'
function.

Yeah, I've been using Grand Central for awhile.

I use two different accounts.



Seems like they will be opening it up soon though.

I told everyone I know to go to the Google Voice site
and sign up for a future account.

I think it will.


It does so much its hard to take it all in.

Here is whats happening.


They have done some major changes to GrandCentral
and re-named it Google Voice.

The old Grand Central customers are being 'upgraded' first
then everyone else will get a Google Voice account.


I got my upgrade and it pretty amazing
calls to all US landlines and cell ...

GrandCentral anounced they are expanding GC and giving it a new name
Google Voice.

They also said more accounts will be available soon.

but that seemed a bit tricky for us lay-people.

I a fairly certain there are some clever ways to extend usage
of MJ thru Grand Central.

Any of you come up with some?

Can you tell me where the email settings are found?

I am using Windows XP and want to see my voicemail on my laptop.

Is this a standard MJ feature or is a mod required?

I just got a nice set-up. Its a behind the head type

So these would normally be 2.5mm (1/8th inch) jacks

or a USB jack, is that correct?

How about just using the combo mic and earphone
set up that came with my cell phone. Will that work too?

The phonejack on the MJ is a RJ11 so I guess I
need to find an adaptor to convert into a headset with a microphone?

I too spent an hour with the chat folks.


I was trying to change my call forwarding from a landline to my cell.


She could not sort it out and said she would have someone get back with me.

They have not but it seems to be working for now.

This is a question about this forum. How can I narrow down search results?

I typed "call forwarding" (with and without the quotes) and I get too many unrelated hits.

Is there a smarter way to find a topic?

To answer the question in your title. Many of us use MJ & GC together. Especially the folks who can't get a local area code with MJ. I like using GC for the same reason you do - to be able to block out calls when I want ...

My MJ number is (530) 845-XXXX.

I just re-checked the *67 caller ID and it seems to work just
fine in warm California.

I did find an adaptor from Radio Shack, part number 43-2017, $5. USD

I'm using a WinXP laptop with MJ and need a headset.

Looks like I could use a RJ-11 (standard phone jack) adaptor to
a headset (where to buy?). Or use the two 1/8 inch jacks on my Dell
(one for mic, one for headphones)
