Magicjack will not work natively on PPC macs. It will only work on intel macs. To get around this, you will need to install parallels or some kind of virtual machine software. This basically makes a fake computer that you can install windows on and run it from inside OS X. Then you can plug in your ...

Not any more you can't, they changed the nonce so you can't connect through any softphone but their own without the proxy.
Anyways, who cares if its against the TOS? Its wrong of them to close down their product on their customers anyway. We should be able to use their service in any way we want ...

Hey I just wanted to say thanks for the proxy script. I'm running it on Ubuntu 9.04 right now, connected via twinkle. Its been running for 33 minutes with no problems. This has been a godsend, as without it I was going to switch to another voip provider, or even worse, run a VM whenever I wanted to ...

Michael Jackson or MagicJack?
Man this Michael Jackson dying business has been really annoying. All over twitter its "MJ this" and "MJ that" and the whole time I just keep thinking magicjack, and wondering why so many people are talking about it.
Is anyone else having this problem?

New update: I found this site tonight: http://www.voipo.com They offer monthly unlimited service for $8.25/month (annually) and have sip lines and send you an ATA and all the works. I may have to give that a try.

That doesn't quite help me as I'm in the U.S. My biggest concern is that I'm going to South Korea in 3 months and I run linux, so I'd really rather not run a VM just for my softphone if I don't have to. I will, but I don't want to. Could buy a little Fit PC thingy that's small enough and run it off ...

In ubuntu, the magicjack is recognized as a soundcard, just like in windows. However, the software does not load so you will have to find your SIP info and then load it into a linux softphone.
To use the MJ device with a softphone, you'll have to get your SIP information from the dongle. See this ...

I don't know how long you've been using Xandros, but I could definitely recommend that you install ubuntu on your EeePC. There is a netbook remix as well as straight ubuntu 8.10 that will work with the EeePC, there are deb packages available for twinkle in ubuntu.

So I found out today that my current place of employment uses vonage, and that the boss thinks he's paying too much (duh) and wants to find something cheaper, so I suggested the magicjack, it has 2 lines just like they have now, and to add more lines just buy more devices. Then I was told that the ...

How silly of verizon
So I've been having some issues with my cellphone, and I called verizon to get them sorted out. The tech asked for another number to call me on so we could troubleshoot the phone, so I gave her my magicjack number and hung the cellphone. I had forgotten about the call forwarding so when she called ...
