Thanks for the help sbw07.

If, for instance, i'm going to use the New York IP address, I have to replace the ????????
with NewYork in the "proxy1.????????.talk4free.com" statement, correct?

Also, will I need to reboot after this change?

Thanks again!

How do you make the change to the Windows hosts file to redirect to a different MagicJack proxy server?

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium?

Thanks.

I've got a Uniden EXP4540 and it works pretty well.
I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium.
I have read in other posts that the DECT 6.0 type of phone is supposed to be one of the better ones to use with MJ.
Has anyone else had experience using that type of phone with MJ?
Thanks.

Do you know if their is any type of warranty period for the MagicJack where you can get a free replacement?
Or, do we have to purchase a new unit no matter when it fails?
Thanks.

P.S. Does anyone know how many upgrades have been done to the hardware since the MagicJack was first released?
And if so ...

I concur. It would be very helpful if there was a page on their website to view a build-history of all version upgrades as well as fixes that have been made for each version. That way you could possibly rollback to a previous version, if needed.
How would we let them know that these enhancements to ...

Help "About MagicJack"

Maybe this is being picky, but, it would be helpful if they had a
Help "About MagicJack" dropdown selection where you could check
to see which version (build) of MJ you're currently running.

Anybody else think that would be a helpful enhancement?

Thanks for the info. Matt9876.

I also received the Lucky You message while booting up this morning.

I just changed my Microphone setting within MJ and then rebooted my PC.
The setting now stays as I set it.

I then called my office and left a voicemail to test the audio quality.
I could hear the ...

*67

I've seen posts about using *67 as part of the number when you're dialing out using MJ.
However, i've seen two variations posted and would like to know if there is any difference between the two.
Is one better than the other, etc... I google'd *67 and the text spoke about it being used to block ...

Do you think that the HBB1 - Hawking Broadband Booster would help me out at all?

I've seen quite a few favorable reviews about how it has improved some people's audio as it is
supposed to give more priority to the voip process?

Hi there strndedinalska,

I actually read up on the MagicJack while I was waiting for it to arrive. I received it on July 20, 2008, so, even before I got it in the mail, I had changed that setting already. I also have tweaked the sound settings within MagicJack as well as the sound settings within ...

Poor Audio Quality

I'm running Windows Visa Home Premium.
After I make a call, I can hear the person i'm calling very clearly, however,
everyone i've called says they can hardly hear me.
I've tried tweaking the audio settings in MagicJack and even the Sound settings
within Control Panel, but it doesn't seem to help ...
