THIS is my last chat with PEGGY.
As u might imagine, they have no clue what the problem is and consistently hang up when I refuse to let them run me in circles.
I got hung up on for the 4th time in 3 hours this AM. Do you have what it takes to deal with these no technical support Indians with American names - the 'PEGGYs of Magicjack".
I have chatted with level 3, literally, for over 20 hours in the last month with no resolution to this problem. I have no more patients so don't ask. I want a resolution to this issue. The problem exists on 3 W7 x64 Ultimate systems I have, BUT IT WORKS FINE ON MY XP SYSTEM.
I just did a clean install of W7 x64 Ultimate on a system.
When I plug in MJ, the computer recognizes it and installs drivers, but MJ never starts. There is a blue lite.
The MJ virtual CD ROM shows as corrupt in Windows Explorer under Windows 7 but not under XP.
The problem is that if I reboot the system with MJ plugged in it will take 5 min to boot because it is trying to read the MJ CD that is corrupt.
It will eventually boot, but the MJ will not start. There is no mjusbsp folder created.
If I force start MJ using autorun.exe on the MJ (vista only) drive, it will start and I can make and rcv calls.
If I reboot or unplug and replug MJ, the same thing happens. Makes no difference if it is plugged into a different port or if I have it on an extension cable or not.
I have run upgrade. Since it is a clean install, there was nothing on the system about MJ so it is also a clean install of MJ.
Every time someone has tried to log onto my computer they have caused it to hang and I had to reboot. Don't ask to do it anymore.
I WANT ONE - REPEAT ONE (1), PROBLEM SOLVED >>> WHY DOES CD SHOW AS CORRUPT UNDER WINDOWS 7????????????????????
IF YOU CANNOT ANSWER THAT PASS THIS TO SOMEONE WHO CAN AND HAS AN OLD MJ CONNECTED TO A COMPUTER RUNNING W7 X64.
--------hang up ----------------
MY REVIEW---------
If u are competent enough to fix ANY issue u have with this unit yourself then by all means try it out. It works when it works - if it doesn't u will not get much serious help from chatting with technical no support. I have chatted with them for OVER 20 hours for the same problem dealing with W7 and a "corrupt" MJ CD drive, which hangs my computer on boot and will not auto start when plugged in. I have been hung up on 7 times because they refuse to answer MY questions. The chat is one way - they are broadcasting and u rcv only. They will lead u thru the same BS over and over without resolution then hang up - u know - INSANITY. If that doesn't solve your issue, they will repeat it until your are totally frustrated and give up. Another ploy is to constantly ask u to "wait and be patient".
From what I have heard I am going with NETTALK - infinitely better, connects to ur router and u don't need ur computer on all the time. - and they have tech support.
