Hi Everyone,
It's been 2 months that I have been unable to make calls out with mj I have talked to so many of their techs, so many times , I am going bonkers!
I get that 401 error too, also the waiting for the device one, and another is waiting for some eve??
I have run and re-run, deleted and added mj , checked the anti virus, also have plugged in and unplugged mj I dunno maybe about 50 or more times .
I have tried many times to make calls out using the soft pad, and using my own phone to dial, nothing works. I do believe they are just reading off some paper knowing full well that it is all a bunch of dog doo!
Please if anyone here can help me with this problem, I will be ever so grateful. To add fuel to the fire, I also paid for mj for 5 more years, UGH!
Thank You,

Rather than suggesting you search for this very common complaint, I will administer some pablum...
Have you tried you MJ on another computer with known good internet connection
plug into rear usb
don't use silver usb cable extender
try a powered usb hub

Hi Crackerjack, any more good suggestions? I tried what you suggested and nothing I had to use the extension as the back place on tower is not high enough to plug mj in. I hope you have other options for me to try?
Thank You,

Until you receive more ideas on getting MJ going again, I'd say try it on another computer. It may be that your computer crash with XP damaged something in the MJ dongle. But MJ works great on my Win7. |

Are you absolutely sure that it's 2 beeps like a busy signal?
I ask this because, a very common problem is that when trying to place a call using magicJack, you hear 3 "Fast Busy" tones and then are disconnected.
It's the same tone as a regular busy signal, but about 1/2 or 1/4 the length of a regular busy tone.
If, while trying to place a call using magicJack, you get 3 fast busy tones and then are disconnected, that is a absolute indication that magicJack is blocking access to the numbers that you are trying to call.
Usually these numbers belong to customers of small and/or rural telphone companies.
I just finished mentioning this problem in this forum under the topic "Magic Screen". You may want to look at that or at another forum where this has been extensively covered (well over 300 posts on the subject). The topic is called: "Forums » VOIP etc » Voice Over IP - VOIP » MagicJack » HELP- Magic Jack can't call local ISP area code" and you can view it at: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r24566829-HELP-Magic-Jack-cant-call-local-ISP-area-code |

You should probably check it out anyway - perhaps combined with your other problems, you're not hearing 1 of the beeps... |
