I received my Magic Jack last week. Since connecting, there is one phone number that I cannot reach. I get a message that the number has been disconnected. However, the number is fine- I can call it with my cell phone. Also, I can receive calls on my Magic Jack number from that phone number. I can dial all other numbers that I have tried- except this one.
Any ideas?

A long shot, are you dialing the desired number as a 10 or 11 digit (with the leading "1")? With MJ, every number, regardless if it's across the street, requires all 10 digits at a minimum. Adding the leading 1 for numbers in the US and Canada doesn't hurt either.

If you want to send me a private message with the number, I can try that number for you. If it's a private number, tell me when it's a good time to call it. I'm on Pacific time (Los Angeles/Seattle/Vancouver).

Yes, I am dialing the whole number, including the 1. The weird thing is that it works occasionally- it worked on Friday, and it's working right now. but it didn't work all weekend, and it didn't work this morning. Who knows!

I have a simular experiance with a number I call here in Illinois. Usually is works but every couple of days I get a message that the line is out of service. But If I call it from my cell or my other VoIP provider it works fine. Its has to be based on a signal from the land line provider or switch.

I am curious if it is a Verizon Wireless number?

I cannot dial Verizon Wireless.

My wife's Sprint cell phone could call our MJ number, but now gets the "out of service" message. I haven't tried to contact customer service because past attempts were fruitless.

I had this problem trying to dial one of the local branches of my Fidelity Investments office -- instead of getting their main voice prompt, I would end up ringing in someone else's office inside that branch.

I never could figure out the reason for this -- it is a local number here in Houston (same area code as my home / land line). I just made it a habit to use my local/AT&T land line when calling the Fidelity Office - still happens!

You might let Fidelity office know. Sounds like their internal system may be screwed up.

Did months ago - they could not care less. No one else seems to have the problem other than my Magic Jack.
