|
|
Not sure i get this at all but i have read many posts ppl saying a USB powered hub is the best way to hook the MJ dongle to, i have done this
since i received my MJ 3 months ago, it worked fine but not 100%.
Everyone i spoke to said i sounded like a robot and could not hear me very well most times, also had to reboot pc more often.
So i thought i would try to hook it directly to a USB port at the back of my tower and to my surprise it works alot better, actually at 100% now.
I have not rebooted my pc in 2 weeks and my MJ is still going strong with no issues.
Can someone clear up this matter regarding USB powered and normal USB hub. ty.. |

Some computers don't supply enough power to the USB port. Apparently the MJ device requires a lot of power compared to other devices. Maybe it requires the maximum which the USB standard specifies, and some motherboards apparently don't supply the maximum.
Also, I've heard that not all powered USB hubs are created equally either. Some are alleged to skimp on the power supply, causing the same problem. These two have been recommended by MJ users:

I think Mark pretty much nailed it.....sometimes they work sometimes they don't.
I had a non-powered USB hub, and MJ didn't work at all.
I got a powered USB hub, and it works fine. It even works whether the hub is plugged in to power or not!! |
